'The Secret Life of the American Teenager' Season 2 Return Date Set for January 4, 2010

Secret Life of the American TeenagerTeens in couples therapy, teens with a baby, teens breaking up because one's pressuring the other to have sex. -- holy high school drama!

Well, get ready to see a whole lot more of it, because 'The Secret Life of the American Teenager' is coming back a week earlier than expected, says the Hollywood Reporter.

The show -- which was originally scheduled to return on January 11 -- will now premiere Mon., Jan. 4, 8PM on ABC Family. Better yet: 12 new episodes have been ordered, which means there's plenty of nasty hallway glares to come.

What to Watch Monday, Feb. 16

(9PM, Fox)
Oh, it's on! We're a third of the way through season eight, and Jack and Girl Jack (that's FBI Agent Renee Walker) are still on the trail of terrorists in the nation's capitol.

Meanwhile, the First Family is dealing with the fallout of their son's murder, the First Gentleman's kidnapping and a new crisis with the First Daughter; and tonight sees the inevitable smackdown between computer geeks Chloe and FBI-er Janis Gold (Janeane Garofalo).

The paranoid Ms. Gold gets under uber-techie Chloe's skin when she blocks some much needed access to government files, and let's just say that now that Chloe's a mommy, you really dont want to tick her off.

(10PM, A&E)
Think supermodels are under big pressure to keep their bods in designer sample size shape? William (Benjamin Bratt) finds out tonight about another profession whose practitioners have to keep their bodies in tip top petite form: Horse jockeys.

In fact, Mrs. Jockey, the wife of a successful rider, hires William to help her diminutive hubby, who's become an addict while taking a drug that helps him maintain his weight.

Sure, the missus wants him to be eligible to compete, but not only is she afraid for the state of his health should he continue taking the meds, she's afraid of her spouse; seems the drugs have the side effect of making the jockey a bit psycho.

What to Watch Tuesday, Aug. 5

'Secret Life of the American Teenager'
(8PM, ABC Family)
It happens tonight: While pregnant teen Amy has been dealing with her impending unplanned parenthood for weeks now, she finally lets Mama Juergens, aka '80s teen queen Molly Ringwald, in on the news.

Ringwald has prior on-screen experience with the unplanned pregnancy thang: she starred as a teen mom in the 1988 flick 'For Keeps.' But whether or not she'll be understanding about band geek daughter Amy's sitch remains to be seen. After all, Anne's got problems of her own, namely her wandering hubby, and she's not likely to be pleased about the fact that Amy has taken five episodes -- er, several weeks -- to let her know she's gonna be a grandma.

Fans of ABC Family's surprise summer hit should be pleased, however, about the network's decision to order 13 more episodes of the show. The mama drama, uh, drama, will continue to air new episodes through September, with the newly-ordered batch of installments set to kick off in January.

Molly Ringwald Interview for 'The Secret Life of the American Teenager'

Molly Ringwald"I think there are definitely a lot of people who would love to see a 'Sixteen Candles' sequel."

To Gen Xers, she'll forever be an iconic '80s teen, but -- surprise! -- 'Breakfast Club' star Molly Ringwald is 40-years-old now.

So, in ABC Family's new drama 'Secret Life of the American Teenager' (premiering July 1, 8 PM ET) she's the mom to a 15-year-old band geek who ends up pregnant after a one-night stand.

Ringwald talked to AOL TV about her series' controversial storyline, and which of her beloved movies might be headed for a sequel.
