What to Watch Friday, April 10

Terminator'Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles'
(8PM, Fox) 2nd season finale
The big rumor for tonight's season two finale is that a major character will bite the dust, but we have to ask: who's left?! Derek, Riley and Charley (and maybe Jesse) have all been big deaths so far this season, and with mama Sarah in jail, that leaves Johnny boy with an ever-dwindling list of allies.

Fans are still waiting to hear whether or not the show will get a greenlight for a third season, which makes the finale's big moment all the more pivotal: The Connors finally come face-to-face with Weaver, and the results 'change John's reality forever,' according to the network. That's not sounding so good for the females in his life ...

monk and psych'Monk' and 'Psych'
(9PM & 10PM, USA)
Ya gotta love corporate synergy, at least when it leads to two very funny episodes of 'Monk' and 'Psych.'

In honor of NBC's Super Bowl XLIII broadcast on Sunday, sister network USA unfurls a couple of pigskin-themed installments, beginning with Mr. Monk's plans to enjoy an NFL play-off game being dashed when someone tries to murder a fan in the parking lot.

And in the 'Any Given Friday' ep of 'Psych,' the chance to investigate an NFL training camp murder finds Gus and Shawn at their pop culture reference-slingin' best, including a nod to the classic Mean Joe Greene Coke ad and a cheeky shout out to the 'Psych'-ish CBS hit 'The Mentalist.'

What to Watch Weekend, Dec. 27-28

dog whisperer'Dog Whisperer' Week
(Sun., 8PM, National Geographic)
It's a dog eat dog world out there, but Fall Out Boy rocker Pete Wentz found that before the recent birth of his first child, his bulldog Hemingway was taking the cliché a bit too literally.

Wentz and wife Ashlee Simpson called on Cesar Millan to help them quash Hemingway's building aggression, after they bought a new bulldog puppy -- Rigby -- to provide Hemingway with a pal, only to see the elder dog attack Rigby.

Cesar, in an episode that kicks off the annual 'DW' Week, teaches the couple a few simple tricks that will ensure their household is peaceful, and more importantly, safe, for their new son Bronx Mowgli.

Too bad Cesar couldn't have talked them out of that baby name ...

What to Watch Friday, Dec. 5

rudolph'Greatest Holiday Moments: TV & Film Countdown'
(8PM, NBC)
Nothing says holiday TV like a clip show, but this is actually a cool primetime filler, featuring a countdown of the tube and big-screen clips that spell ho-ho-holiday fun every time you see them.

'Frosty the Snowman'? He's in there. 'Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer'? Check. In fact, several Rankin-Bass clips pop up in the special, which also includes classic scenes from 'Home Alone,' 'Elf,' 'It's a Wonderful Life' and 'A Charlie Brown Christmas.'

And, of course, no countdown of holiday gems would be complete without 'A Christmas Story,' that classic flick that recently celebrated its 25th anniversary and will once again air in a 24-hour marathon on TBS this year.

What to Watch Friday, Sept. 19

'Dog Whisperer'
(9PM, NGC) 100th episode
It's a dog day evening on this special episode of 'Whisperer,' which finds Cesar inviting more than 100 of his past pooch guests and their owners to a party to celebrate his 100th episode.

Complete with red carpet (lined with fire hydrants), the soiree marks a successful dog run in which the trainer has rehabbed more than 300 dogs and 500 owners (in more than 100 cities), curing the canines of aggression, fear and out-of-control behavior and empowering their owners with skills to live happily with man's best friend.

And as a thank you for Cesar's animal magnetism, his party guests have a doggone good surprise for him: An appearance by his childhood hero, Lassie.

What to Watch Friday, Aug. 1

'Doctor Who'
(9PM, SCI FI) 4th season finale
Enjoy this appointment viewing with the Doctor, for it's the last regular season episode we'll see until 2010.

Oh, there'll be specials -- the annual Christmas installment this year, as well as four specials in 2009. But star David Tennant has kept fans guessing about his future as the titular time traveler, with rumors suggesting the 2010 season may be his last.

Again, all the more reason to savor this season ender, the second of a two-parter, in which the Doctor and the TARDIS are in Dalek-driven jeopardy.

Former companion Rose (Billie Piper), her ex-boyfriend Mickey and 'Torchwood' hero Jack Harkness are on the scene to help, but their presence isn't going to be enough to keep the good Doctor unscathed in the end ...
