'Dexter' Season 4 Episode 9 'Hungry Man' Recap

Dexter: Hungry ManWhat happened on this week's 'Dexter' season 4 episode 9, 'Hungry Man' -- in 100 words or less.

Dexter shares a tense Thanksgiving with the Mitchells. Jonah cracks and calls his dad a killer. Dexter nearly strangles Arthur, but the family stops him. He fumes on the way home, with Harry riding psychic shotgun.

Meanwhile, Batista and Maria say "I love you." At home, the shed has been breached, thanks to Cody falling through the skylight, but nothing is amiss.

Courtney Ford on Joining 'Dexter' and the Role of Reporters in Crime Investigations

Courtney FordSeason 4 of 'Dexter' has been chock-full of complications thus far; from the Trinity murders to the Vacation murders, surviving has become a feat in itself.

Popping up over the course of this season has been the curious "Christine Hill," a go-getter reporter and Quinn's new lover, played by Courtney Ford. Having appeared in episodes of 'How I Met Your Mother,' 'Cold Case' and 'Ugly Betty,' landing this spot in Dexter has been a breakout role for her. And it couldn't have come at a better time, as she was almost ready to throw in the acting towel.

AOL TV recently spoke to Ford about her role on 'Dexter,' how her character has evolved and the role of the media in crime investigations.

StreetLevel's 'Dexter' Product Guide

Looking for a special something to give the serial killer on the block this holiday season?

StreetLevel has some macabre merriment based on the Showtime series 'Dexter,' which features a serial killer (Michael C. Hall) who works for the Miami Metro Police Department as a blood spatter analyst.

The gift guide gallery is located here, and features several official Showtime 'Dexter' gifts. Here's a sample of what's in store.

'Dexter' Halloween Costumes: Dexter Morgan and Harrison

DexterThe Costume: Dexter Morgan and his infant son, Harrison.

What You'll Need: Cargo pants, a long-sleeved Henley tee, work boots, black gloves, fake blood splatters on your clothing and a (fake) slasher knife. Or you can buy a Dexter Morgan costume at Showtime.com. For Harrison Morgan, outfit a baby doll with a DIY onesie featuring a slogan from the 'Dexter' season 4 ad campaign, like "My dad is killer," "Cereal spiller" or "A chop off the old block," or one of the official 'Dexter' baby bibs.

Matt LeBlanc to Star in Showtime's 'Episodes' & More TV News

Matt LeBlanc EpisodesMatt LeBlanc plans a return to television, CBS plans a 'Criminal Minds' spinoff, 'NCIS' continues to dominate in the ratings and more of today's top TV headlines.

The Outsiders: 'Dexter' and Duchovny

I've never really understood art. But on a trip to New York, I did my dutiful rounds of the big museums and discovered a painter I really dig. His name was Henry Darger, and he was a recluse who devoted his life to writing the epic story of the Vivian Girls. The Vivian Girls were children who fought some kind of evil force in the world. By all accounts, this book sucks. But as an aide-memoire, Darger also drew and painted scenes from his book, and these pieces are astounding. I bought a few postcard reproductions and I keep them over my desk to remind me that sometimes, you're not making the art you think are.

I like Darger a lot - but I would never want to watch a TV show about his life.

What to Watch Weekend Dec. 13-14

survivor'Survivor: Gabon'
(Sun., 8PM, CBS) 17th season finale
We've come quite a way since that naughty season opener where Marcus' junk fell out of his trunks.

Hard feelings over chocolate chip cookies, a marriage proposal and a girl named Sugar who's proved to be anything but sweet have marked this season, another filled with grungy, food-deprived existences and backstabbing.

Tonight, the winner is announced and the reunion after-show begins (10PM) immediately after. Will Matty go home with a fiancée and one meeeellion dollars? Could be. Meanwhile, though season 17 will be a memory after tonight, don't get too nostalgic; season 18 is already on the schedule for a Feb. 12 premiere.

What to Watch Weekend, Dec. 6-7

leverage'Leverage'
(Sun., 10PM, TNT) series premiere
He's not exactly a superhero, but Oscar winner Timothy Hutton is definitely a modern day Robin Hood as Nate Ford, whose merry band of men and women rob from the corrupt rich and redistribute the wealth to the more honest, hard-working folk who've been duped by the baddies.

Ford is a former insurance investigator with a drinking problem, which is how he and his cohorts -- a thief, a con woman, a computer whiz and a "retrieval specialist" -- know how to crack the code of the shady.

In tonight's opener, that means going up against a shady business exec who stole the airplane designs of his partner in an aeronautics firm.

What to Watch Weekend Nov. 29-30

britney: for the record'Britney: For the Record'
(Sun., 10PM, MTV)
Here it is, straight from the Britney's mouth: The scoop on the pop star's frenzied life, on the eve of her Dec. 2 birthday (her 27th) and the release of her new CD, 'Circus.'

No topic is off limits in the 90-minute interview, as Britney even dishes on the consequences of her psychological breakdown. Says Spears, "(My life has) no excitement, there's no passion. I think it's too in-control. If I wasn't under the restraints I'm under, I'd feel so liberated."

Her last effort with a confessional video -- the infamous 'Britney and Kevin: Chaotic' -- proved to be the beginning of her downward spiral, so here's hoping 'For the Record' won't be followed by more personal drama during her comeback bid.
