NBC Sets 'Chuck' Season 3 Premiere Date For Jan. 10

'Chuck' fans, you're in luck.

After being omitted from NBC's fall lineup, the fan favorite action-comedy finally has a premiere date for its third season. According to NBC, two-back-to-back original episodes will air Sun., Jan. 10, starting at 8PM ET, making the premiere even more geektastic.

Then tune in the next night as 'Chuck'' assumes its regular time slot: Mondays at 8PM.

'Chuck' Versus the T-1000: Robert Patrick to Guest-Star on Season 3 of 'Chuck'

In an episode we'd call 'Chuck Versus the Season Premiere Date,' we still don't know when the third season of NBC's spy guy dramedy 'Chuck' will actually hit primetime.

But in an installment we'd title 'Chuck Versus the Awesome Guest Stars,' we do have another name to add to the already impressive list of celebs who've peppered the show since it debuted in 2007: EW.com reports that 'The X-Files' and 'Terminator 2' star Robert Patrick will pop up in a mid-season 3 episode called 'Chuck Versus the Tic Tac,' playing Col. Keller, a "mysterious figure" from John Casey's (Adam Baldwin) past.

'Chuck' Set Visit: Cast Talks Season 3, Guest Stars, Zach Levi Directing & More - VIDEO

Zachary Levi, 'Chuck'The set of 'Chuck' is almost as much fun as watching the show. One minute, there's a smoke machine going off in a scene -- a sure sign that the danger is about to begin -- and the next, star Zach Levi is on a break, testing out new video games in the comfort of his TV living room.

The much-anticipated third season of NBC's cult favorite show is still waiting on a premiere date, but in the meantime, you can catch up with Chuck and Sarah (Yvonne Strahovski), as well as guest star Brandon Routh, who is playing Shaw, an expert on this season's nemesis organization, The Ring.

"We have a lot to look forward to -- we've raised the stakes a little bit," teases Yvonne. They've also continued their tradition of bringing in awesome guest stars like Routh, Kristin Kreuk, Angie Harmon, "Stone Cold" Steve Austin and Armand Assante, two of which will be playing love interests for Chuck and Sarah. We'll give you one guess ...

Get the behind-the-scenes scoop and find out who Casey (Adam Baldwin) will be grunting at this season, what funnyman Yvonne would love to have on the show and why Zach -- who's directing an episode this season -- says 'Chuck' is a lot like 'Cheers.'

NBC Orders More 'Chuck' (Maybe We Can Stop Buying Subway Sandwiches Now)

Chuck on NBCThere's good news for fans of NBC's 'Chuck.' Absent thus far from the schedule, the show's 13-episode third season wasn't supposed to start until March 2010. But according to The Hollywood Reporter, NBC has commissioned six fresh episodes for 'Chuck' and insiders are speculating the series could return as early as January

The late premiere date had been seen as a huge lack of faith in the potential success of the series by many; but hot on the heels of NBC pulling the plug on new episodes of 'Trauma,' all that is changing now. The new order brings 'Chuck's' third season total to a very respectable 19.

The Show Girl Has Scoop on Season 3 of 'Chuck,' a 'Lost'-'V' Connection & More - VIDEO

Chuck, Zachary LeviYou've got questions? I've got answers. I'm The Show Girl!

What's happening with Season 3 of 'Chuck'? You all wanted to know, so I visited the set to find out, and ended up talking yogurt with Yvonne Strahovski and joking with Zach Levi about directing an episode.

Plus, I get 'V' stars Elizabeth Mitchell and Morris Chestnut to chat about more 'Lost'-ies joining their cast, and share the inside scoop about those tabloid rumors surrounding Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott's marriage, straight from the source.

Want more? Email me TV questions at TheTVShowGirl@aol.com -- who knows, I might just give you an answer on the show. Now watch, enjoy and come back next week for more. Until then, happy TV watching! -- By Maggie Furlong

'Chuck' to Return to NBC in October?

ChuckIn another move that suggests NBC may be having trouble figuring out its primetime strategy, Entertainment Weekly is reporting that the dork-spy show 'Chuck' -- which was supposed to come back for its third season in March 2010 -- might be making its return to the programming lineup as early as this month.

'Chuck' has never been a ratings bonanza for the network, and in fact, NBC was set to cancel it last year, but was convinced otherwise by a "Save Chuck" campaign. (Or, the saving grace might have been a sponsorship tie-in with Subway in which the sandwich chain will presumably receive product placement for funding the show's production.)

TCA Press Tour Recap: NBC Does Jay Leno, 'Community' & 'Top Chef' Lunch

Jay LenoThe TV Critics' Press Tour saw NBC's family of networks trotting out the stars of their new shows. You can follow me for all the notable moments and breaking news on Twitter (@TheTVShowGirl), but here's a handy recap of the day's events.

For NBC, we saw panels on 'Trauma,' 'Mercy,' 'The Jay Leno Show' and my personal favorite, 'Community,' while also getting news on 'Southland,' 'Friday Night Lights' and 'Chuck.' Then it was USA's 'White Collar' and Syfy's 'Stargate Universe.' But the highlight of my day (OK, week) was the 'Top Chef' quickfire lunch, hosted by Bravo's own Padma Lakshmi and Gail Simmons.
