Sister Act: Zooey Deschanel to Guest Star on 'Bones'

Zoey and Emily DeschanelFor most people, the holidays are a time for family rituals. Decorating the Christmas tree. Lighting the menorah. Solving a gruesome murder.

OK, maybe that's not part of most family holidays, but that's exactly what 'Bones' has in store for fans this year, as Fox has announced Zooey Deschanel will be a special guest star for this year's holiday episode. Zooey, who has appeared in numerous films such as '500 Days of Summer' and 'Elf', will team up with her sister, 'Bones' star Emily Deschanel, for the first time on screen.

'Bones' 100th Episode Spoilers: Brennan and Booth's First Meet

Brennan and Booth on BonesFans of Booth and Brennan have been wondering about that first encounter involving this mismatched pair first met for years. Now, after 99 episodes of 'Bones,' they'll finally get the chance to find out.

EW.com's Ausiello Files confirmed that for its 100th episode, 'Bones' will take viewers back to the first meeting between David Boreanaz' Seeley Booth and Emily Deschanel's Temperance Brennan. Executive producer Stephen Nathan said, "Events will conspire to make them come out of the case hating each other and vowing that they will never work together again."

Did Swine Flu Sideline David Boreanaz and 'Bones'?

David Boreanaz BonesHere's another mystery for the sleuths of 'Bones': What was the bug that benched Booth (David Boreanaz), shutting down production on the Fox crime procedural Monday for the first time ever while the actor recuperated?

The initial rumor, spread by none other than show runner Hart Hanson, was that Boreanaz had swine flu. But both Hanson and 'Bones'' production company rushed to quash that rumor, insisting that the 40-year-old actor simply suffered from garden-variety flu, and that production would, with luck, resume on Tuesday.

What to Watch: May 11-17

This week on TV: House and Cuddy's post-kiss aftermath, 'Jersey' girls and big finales for 'Lost' and 'Bones.'

HouseMONDAY, MAY 11
'House' (8PM, Fox) 5th season finale
Well ... that happened. Now that House and Cuddy have finally acted on their long-simmering feelings for each other, they can enjoy a happy relationship, right? Au contraire, because this is House we're talking about, and despite last week's gnarly detox, he still has plenty of demons haunting him, including, yes, Amber. Elsewhere, the good, grumpy doc and company are dealing with a patient whose brain is in a war with itself. The left side's battling the right side for control of his personality, which is making his diagnosis and treatment even more challenging.

'The Big Bang Theory' – 2nd season finale (8PM, CBS)
'Gossip Girl' – No Doubt guest stars (8PM, The CW)
'24' – Kim's baaa-ack (9PM, Fox)
'Charm School With Ricki Lake' – 3rd season premiere (9PM, VH1)
'Castle' – 1st season finale (10PM, ABC)

Emily Deschanel Interview

"... when you are working with somebody for four years, it's kind of uncomfortable to have to kiss them and be in bed with them."

In the hit procedural 'Bones' (Fox, Thurs., 8 PM), Emily Deschanel stars as forensic anthropologist Dr. Temperence Brennan, who's more comfortable with decaying bodies than she is with most living, breathing people. Deschanel is not Bones, though she did have a Brennan moment in our interview when we referred to her character as a "forensic pathologist" -- whoops!

The actress dished with us about the highly anticipated Brennan-Booth hookup, if we can expect to see her sister, Zooey, show up as a guest ... and which bones she just can't tell apart (Temperence would be so disappointed). -- By Angie Argabrite

What to Watch Monday, April 20

For the Love of Ray J'For the Love of Ray J'
(10PM, VH1) 1st season finale
Ray J's mama told him none of the three finalists were right for him. That isn't stopping him from making plans to meet their families tonight however, though one of the ladies throws a wrench in his game when she abruptly leaves.

For Ray J's sake, here's hoping it's tattoo-faced Danger ... not saying she's crazy, but Brandy's little bro might want to consider whether or not he's willing to live with the chance that he'll wake up in the middle of the night with Danger standing over him, a knife in one hand and his junk in the other.

Meanwhile, the other two finalists: Cocktail and Unique, meaning it's all but certain that Ray J's gonna need another season.

What to Watch Thursday, April 16

Bones'Bones'
(8PM, Fox)
In a treat for fans, the show's second new episode of the week finds Brennan and Booth rocking out with their, uh, bones out, when a creepy case forces the duo to delve into the world of skeletons and death metal music.

The Jeffersonian team gets mixed up in the bizarre case when it's discovered that a death metal band in Norway is using an actual human skeleton as part of its stage act.

The remains of the day turn out to be an American, more specifically a death metal musician named Mayhem, from a band named Spew, but that's not the episode's biggest surprise, as the case sparks Brennan and Booth to 'fess up their own musical tastes to each other.
