'Grey's Anatomy' and 'Private Practice' to Crossover (Again)

Private Practice'Grey's Anatomy' and its spin-off, 'Private Practice,' are at it again with their crossover episodes.

The Ausiello Files is reporting that Walsh will come back to 'Grey's' in early January for a top-secret plot centered around Addison, Mark and Leven Rambin, who recently joined the cast from 'Terminator: Sarah Connor Chronicles.'

Apparently, Addison returns to Seattle at Mark's request to perform surgery on Leven's character. But, as executive producer Shondra Rhimes spoils, the plot will extend back over into 'Private,' when a complication has Mark transfer the patient back down to L.A. again (so much for the plot being "top secret").

Danielle Panabaker Checks into 'Grey's Anatomy'

Danielle PanabakerRemember the James Woods series 'Shark'? Not really? Well, one of the stars of that gone-too-soon CBS drama is about to get slightly better exposure thanks to an episode of 'Grey's Anatomy' on Nov. 19, according to EW's Ausiello Files.

Danielle Panabaker, who played Woods' troubled teen daughter on the show, will be playing a patient cared for by the perpetually cranky Cristina (Sandra Oh) and Mercy West transfer Jackson (Jesse Williams) on the episode. "It's a really sweet, heartbreaking story," a Grey's insider told EW.

That won't be the only stunt casting on the show, however. In the episode, Frankie Faison ('The Wire,' 'Law & Order:SVU') will appear as the father of Dr. Bailey (Chandra Wilson).

'Grey's Anatomy' Airs Most Expensive Ads

Grey's AnatomyGot an extra $240,462 stuffed into your mattress? Then you could buy a single 30-second commercial spot on 'Grey's Anatomy,' which, according to a report in Advertising Age, is the most expensive ad buy among primetime scripted network series.

On the other hand, a mere $48,803 will buy you 30 seconds on the new crown jewel in NBC's primetime lineup, 'The Jay Leno Show.'

The Ad Age report, which breaks down the cost for 30-second ads on every fall primetime network show, notes that sponsor spending is down across the board compared to last year ...

Our Favorite TV Bosses

Michael Scott The OfficeDon't you wish your boss were more like the bosses on TV? You know, wise, kind, smart, respectful ... oh, actually, never mind. TV bosses may not always be the best managers around, but at least they're entertaining. In honor of Boss' Day, here are 13 bosses who liven up the TV workplace, for better or (very often) for worse.

'Grey's Anatomy,' 'Dancing' & More Stars at GLSEN Red Carpet

Kelly Osbourne and Louis Van Amstel HBO, 'Grey's Anatomy' and 'Private Practice' creator Shonda Rhimes and philanthropist David Bohnett were honored Oct. 9 night by GLSEN at the Beverly Hills Hotel. The organization (which is pronounced "glisten") stands for Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network and seeks to create safe school environments for all students by making them aware of how harmful comments like "that's so gay" are.

Television's primary goal is to entertain, but it can also educate, according to Michael Lombardo, president of HBO programming. "We've certainly seen TV shows that have gay characters, but they're usually playing comedic foils or certainly asexual," Lombardo said.

Do Bailey and Sam Hook Up On the 'Grey's Anatomy'-'Private Practice' Crossover?

Way back in August, when we broke the story about 'Grey's Anatomy''s own Dr. Bailey (Chandra Wilson) taking a trip to sunny L.A. to visit Oceanside Wellness on 'Private Practice,' we speculated that she wasn't just going to work on a case. And judging from tonight's previews, it looks like we were right -- Bailey is smooching none other than Sam (Taye Diggs).

Kim Raver Joins 'Grey's Anatomy' Cast -- What Does This Mean for the Show?

Kim RaverWith the death of George O'Malley (T.R. Knight) greeting 'Grey's Anatomy' fans at the beginning of this season, Seattle Grace has experienced a void ... or should we say vacancy? According to the Hollywood Reporter, Kim Raver will be stepping into the job opening left by Knight's departure, starting with episode 9. And the plot thickens -- Michael Ausiello reports that Raver will be playing a surgeon and possible new love interest for Dr. Owen Hunt (Kevin McKidd).

'Grey's Anatomy' Star Jessica Capshaw Talks Lesbians, Demands & Dempsey's Humor

Jessica Capshaw, 'Grey's Anatomy'Jessica Capshaw caused quite a stir when she began her guest spot on 'Grey's Anatomy' last season -- and with a TV name like Arizona Robbins, how could she not?

Not only was Capshaw's character a "replacement lesbian" for Brooke Smith's Dr. Hahn (who'd been let go earlier that year) -- romancing Callie Torres (Sara Ramirez) and heating up the on-call rooms at Seattle Grace even more -- but she was also vying to get Dr. Bailey to switch from surgery to pediatrics.

AOL TV sat down with Capshaw, now a series regular, to find out what it's like to be upgraded from guest star, which guy makes her laugh on set and working at a place where it's all about saving lives ... and having sex.

We've got the scoop on September's choice TV-to-DVD releases: We'll let you know when you should dole out your hard-earned dollars, and when a simple addition to your Netflix queue will suffice. -- By Janine LoGelfo

'No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency' (The Complete First Season) - HBO's series about a strong Botswana woman based on the popular Alexander McCall books has yet to be renewed for a second season -- while that mystery is being solved, familiarize yourself with this gem of a show. Jill Scott's portrayal of the iconic character Mma Ramostwe is like a breath of fresh air, and the show is surprisingly clean for HBO's sensibilities, featuring no profanity, explicit violence or sex throughout the whole season.
