Kevin Murphy Named 'Caprica' Showrunner

The new 'Caprica' poster tells us "The Future of Humanity Begins with a Choice," and now The Hollywood Reporter reports that future is in the hands of Kevin Murphy. Murphy has been named the day-to-day showrunner of the new sci-fi series and will executive produce along with Ronald D. Moore, David Eick and Jane Epenson.

Murphy has several television credits on his resume, having recently served as an executive producer on 'Valentine,' a consulting producer on 'Reaper' and a co-executive producer on 'Desperate Housewives.' He also served as executive producer on 'Reefer Madness: The Movie Musical,' which he also wrote.

'Battlestar Galactica''s Kate Vernon joins 'Heroes'

Movieweb reports that Kate Vernon will join the cast of 'Heroes,' at least for one episode. 'Heroes' cast member Greg Grunberg (who plays Matt Parkman) posted the following on his Twitter account: "Kate Vernon from BSG is now on Heroes -- can't wait for you guys to see her. The 5th!!"

Grunberg also posted a photo of Vernon with 'Heroes' cast member Robert Knepper, who plays Samuel, the leader of the mysterious traveling troupe known as the Carnival, prompting speculation that Vernon will play a member of the group. Then again, they may have just been hanging out on the set ... you never really know with 'Heroes.'

Edward James Olmos Talks About His 'Plan' for More 'Battlestar Galactica'

'Battlestar Galactica' star Edward James Olmos was just as reluctant as fans to let the BSG universe go. Shortly after wrapping the series -- and his role as Admiral Adama -- Olmos stepped behind the lens to direct a film based on the Cylon point of view called 'The Plan.'

Olmos recently explained to AOL Television that he has a plan of his own, and it's to make as many BSG films as possible. In fact, he's convinced that if you stop what you're doing right now and buy 'The Plan' on DVD, he may get to do just that. Read on to find out what other 'Galactica' tales he's got on the backburner, why he's still fuming over the sale of the set and how he draws a parallel between BSG and that other little sci-fi epic he was in, 'Blade Runner.'

'BSG' Alum Michael Trucco Embraces the Law in New USA Pilot 'Facing Kate'

Michael Trucco's days of galaxy drifting are definitely over. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the 'Battlestar Galactica' alum has signed on for USA's 'Facing Kate,' a pilot that follows a lawyer named Kate (Sarah Shahi) who leaves her job for a new career as a mediator.

Trucco will play Kate's ex-husband, who also happens to be a lawyer. The show's premise stems on the death of Kate's dad, another lawyer, which sends her into a need for a new career of sorts.

Also signed on is Virginia Williams ('How I Met Your Mother') as an obsessive stepmother.

Syfy Name Change Working: 'Warehouse 13' Beats 'Battlestar Galactica'

Warehouse 13 on SyfyWhat the frak? Who'd have imagined that the universally snickered-at name change from Sci Fi Channel to Syfy this summer would not only turn out to be a smart move, but that the new Syfy flagship show, 'Warehouse 13,' would turn out to be an even bigger hit than 'Battlestar Galactica'?

What's next, a cooking show? (Oh, wait ... ) What planet are we living on again?
