Fans of Joss Whedon's cult phenom 'Dollhouse' will be sorely disappointed to learn that Fox has just dropped the sci-fi series, exactly as we predicted earlier this week (we'll hold off on calling bragging rights -- for now).According to the Hollywood Reporter, the show was pulled after a season of disastrous ratings. It's September premiere, for example, was seen by just 2.0 million people, and earned a shockingly low 1.0 rating in the all-important 18-49 demo. Ratings continued to plummet as the season went on, with 'Dollhouse' earning a series-low 0.8 rating just a couple of weeks ago. So, in other words: Nobody should be all that surprised by today's report.
Still, some wondered whether the show would be saved (again) because of its impressive DVR numbers. As we reported earlier, the second season premiere saw a 50 percent increase once its DVR numbers were factored into the mix.
In the meantime, Fox says it will air all 13 episodes (the show is currently in production on episode 11). Whedon also said he is working on giving the show a proper send-off when it returns to TV on Dec. 4.
We expect fans will set their DVRs accordingly.

I'm so very disappointed that they're getting rid of another show that I liked very much. First its Eastwick then its Dollhouse what the f@@@?

I'm really angry that Dollhouse has been cancelled. Fox takes Dollhouse out of the sweeps running by showing reruns of other shows and then complains that no one watches?!?! This show made me stay home on Friday's! I bought the DVD of the first season so that I could catch up before the second began.

I'm sad, but not surprised to see Dollhouse go. I have been a huge fan of both Whedon and Dushku since Buffy. Unfortunately, unlike Buffy, there was not enough character driven story to make Dollhouse worth following.

Maybe they should have put it on another night. There were and are alot of worse shows on than dollhouse. I liked the show I watched it until it came on on Fridays then it competed with Ghost Whisperer. Too bad another good show down the drain.

Sorry, but this show wasn't that good. It was no Buffy the Vampire Slayer. I won't be weeping for its cancellation.

CHRIST! FIRST FIREFLY NOW DOLLHOUSE!! ITS A SHAME JOSS WHEDON DIDNT WRITE DURING THE 80S WHEN THE AVERAGE TV VIEWER WAS ACTUALLY INTELLIGENT AND HIS FANATASTIC WORK WOULD BE APPRECIATED.
HOPEFULLY THIS CANCELLATION WILL LEAVE A TIMESLOT FOR YET ANOTHER LAME REALITY SHOW THAT THE BRAINLESS OF THIS GENERATION CAN ENJOY. JOSS WHEDON ROCKS AND ANYONE WHO DOESNT SEE THAT JUST DOESNT GET IT. BACK IN THE DAY, FOX ROCKED AND WAS CUTTING EDGE--TODAY IT IS WATERED DOWN AND LAME--ITS FINALLY JUMPED THE SHARK!

I'm getting really anoyed! I loved Dollhouse, and Eastwick! I'm already missing The Sarah Connor Chronicles! I guess I'll just have more time to do other things. And I don't watch any live TV. I DVR everything!
