Gregory Itzin Due Back as Eeeeevil Pres. Charles Logan on '24'

Heads up, '24' fans: Logan's back. In a reprise of his Emmy-nominated performance as Pres. Charles Logan, Gregory Itzin is set to wreak a bit more havoc this January.

Itzin's character will be a part of a multi-episode story arc, which should come as a surprise to most fans. He was last seen at the end of season 6, flat-lining en route to the hospital. But, as evil often is hard to kill, we learned that Logan survived. At the beginning of season 7, Jack Bauer (Kiefer Sutherland) was alerted to this fact, but didn't have to worry too much, as his absence was explained by the simple fact of his being on house arrest.

For season 8, current Pres.Taylor (Cherry Jones) calls on Logan for diplomatic advice, which is presumably all one ever needs to get back into the evil game. Bauer is brought out of retirement as well, after learning of an assignation plot around peacekeeping leader Omar Hassan (Anil Kapoor). New York City will provide the backdrop to "Day 8," which starts at 4PM. Also joining the cast are Mykelti Williamson and Freddie Prinze Jr.

In a statement, '24' executive producer Howard Gordon said, "The opportunity for these two remarkable actors to share the stage was simply too compelling to pass up," referring to Itzin and Jones.

The now customary two-hour, back-to-back-nights season premiere of '24' is set for Jan. 17 and 18.
