For most people, the holidays are a time for family rituals. Decorating the Christmas tree. Lighting the menorah. Solving a gruesome murder. OK, maybe that's not part of most family holidays, but that's exactly what 'Bones' has in store for fans this year, as Fox has announced Zooey Deschanel will be a special guest star for this year's holiday episode. Zooey, who has appeared in numerous films such as '500 Days of Summer' and 'Elf', will team up with her sister, 'Bones' star Emily Deschanel, for the first time on screen.
According to the Fox press release, the episode, which will air on December 10, features Zooey as a distant relative who visits for the holidays. Meanwhile, Emily's character Temperance Brennan and her partner Booth (David Boreanaz) will be busy investigating the death of a bank robber dressed as Santa.
The episode will also feature a return by Ryan O'Neal in the role of Brennan's father, Max Keenan. And who knows, if the Deschanel reunion is popular enough, maybe Fox will get his daughter Tatum to make an appearance.
Now that would be a true holiday miracle.

Zooey is even more of a flake than her sister . It'll make me sick to see the two of them together .
