Curb your criticisms – or at least that's what 'Curb Your Enthusiasm' star Cheryl Hines says about the latest questions about the show's edgy humor."I haven't talked to him about it, but I am sure [he would say] they probably shouldn't watch the show if it is going to offend [them]," Hines told Moviefone at Thursday's Ante Up for Africa event outside L.A., to benefit Darfur charities. "Because Larry [David] has skewered all kinds of subjects and himself. That's the nature of the show."
In last Sunday's episode of the famously provocative 'Curb Your Enthusiasm' on HBO, David urinates on a picture of Jesus, and a woman believes the picture is crying. It outraged the Catholic League, as their president press-released the episode, saying it unfairly picked on Catholics.
"I understand everybody has their beliefs, and they want to stand up for what they believe in," Hines says. "It's a free world. You can do whatever you want. But you don't have to tune in if you don't like it."
Another running humor line in this season's show?
A character, Loretta Black, played by Vivica A. Fox, having cancer and needing help from David.

I'm with you Jo Ann...that's disgusting. Bet if someone did that on the Quaran/Koran or something, people would be having a fit!

My father in law sent me an email about this. Called the cable network immediately and dropped HBO. They said it would cost him $15 to drop just HBO and he said he didn't care, was anyway. I totally admire him! I know the pres of the catholic league, maybe he can help my father in law get his $15/month back!

Seems like dropping HBO is a good idea...Will send a small message to the Larry Davids of TV Land. He would never write such a negative scene like that about urinating on a Jewish symbol.

I dropped HBO too. So Cheryl I "tuned out" like you said -proba;y nothe way you intended but even more effective. I wonder if Cheryl would tell the Jews or Moslems just to "tune out" if some a-hole peed on a Menorah or the Koran?.

how many dropped the church for the very real (not make beleive on tv) priest sex scandals?

Confused has it exactly right. Not even the bishops, cardinals, or the pop showed any outrage. Come to think of it, better that Larry had pissed on a real Cardinal Law.

Really people? I think it's hilarious and plays on the complete and total idiocy of people who think pictures of human beings cry.

You'll do nothing of the kind because you are fat and uneducated. Television is all you have in your life.
