We hate to be the one to start a Rumer, but here's one we'll pass along: Rumer Willis, whose lesbian character Gia made a couple blink-and-you'll-miss-it appearances on '90210' earlier this season, will be returning in a major way -- for a romance with a main (and straight) character. According to Entertainment Weekly, Gia, who works on the school newspaper, will be hooking up with teen mom and fellow journalist Adrianna, played by Jessica Lowndes. Though to hear the producers tell it, this won't be just a simple sweeps week hook-up.
"We're coming at this [relationship] from a genuine place and not going, 'Let's do a titillating story that will grab some promotion.' This is a real aspect of teenager life that's interesting," swears executive producer Rebecca Sinclair. "There's been a real void in the '90210' universe in terms of gay and bisexual characters."
Whether or not this turns out to be a heartfelt storyline or just another ratings stunt remains to be seen, of course, but you'll have to wait until next year to find out: the episodes in question won't air until January.

Is this what tv has turned into.My kids know and understand about the situation but don't want it plastered on my tv every night for little ones to see.Bi or straight.

We need to get back to decent programming for the whole family. Same sex partners ruin good shows. And before you say you can always turn the channel, I know I can, and that's exactly what I'll be doing.

You know LGBT people do exist and have to watch 99% straight tv so why not have a whopping 5 gay characters on tv??? Why is it so offensive to you??? Maybe your kids will learn to treat everyone equally unlike their bigot parents. just a thought.

EQUALITY TV,
You Sweetie, are calling the wrong person a bigot. Our daughter's best friend all through school is gay, I have several lesbian friends from work, and my great grandchildren are half Mexican. I do not want to see same sex on TV, and I don't want to see trash on Tv. Just my opinion. Some things don't need to be out there.

No one has the ability of choosing their own race, while we all have the ability of choosing our own sexual preferences. Nothing is right about being gay. And they should not be glorified on TV as normal, while they are freaks and dropouts of society, hoping to be seen as normal, when they are not.
