Casting News: Jane Lynch and Kristen Bell Ready to 'Party Down' & More

Getty Images'Party Down' fans can rest easy, as E! Online confirms that Jane Lynch will reprise her role as Constance Carmell in the upcoming season. Also along for the ride will be Kristen Bell, who appeared in the season 1 finale as Uda Bengt -- she'll be the love interest of Adam Scott's character, Henry Pollard. The Starz show is currently shooting and is scheduled to air in spring 2010.

Lynch is currently enjoying a wave of success as the cheerleading coach on Fox's smash hit 'Glee,' which means 'Party Down' could be in for some boosted interest this time around. And we already know that Kirsten Bell and 'Party Down' co-creator Rob Thomas work well together -- 'Veronica Mars,' which Thomas created, launched her career. Since then she's concentrated on feature films -- most recently starring alongside Jason Bateman and Vince Vaughn in 'Couples Retreat' -- but any full-time return to television from Bell would be more than welcome, even on a premium cable channel. Beggars can't be choosers.
Lynch talks about returning to 'Party Down' in 'Couples Retreat' video interview

• Following 'The Closer' and 'Saving Grace,' TNT is continuing the direction of casting strong female in show lead roles. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Angie Harmon is set to star in the pilot 'Rizzoli,' based on the popular Jane Rizzoli mystery novels. Harmon will play a Boston-based detective, which echoes her last full-time gig as a principal cast member of the short-lived ABC crime-drama 'Women's Murder Club.' The 'Rizzoli' pilot will be directed by 'Closer' alum Michael M. Robin.
