Fox Pulls 'Dollhouse' From November Sweeps

DollhouseBad news for fans of Fox's sci-fi drama 'Dollhouse': Entertainment Weekly reports that the show has been pulled from the November sweeps lineup, but is expected to return in December.

The network will air back-to-back episodes of 'Dollhouse' on Friday nights; it seems likely that after the 13-episode order is finished, the show will be officially canceled.

'Dollhouse' premiered on Feb. 13, 2009, and never reached more than five million viewers for any single episode. This season the ratings have been even lower, with just upwards of two million viewers per episode. Earlier this month, The Hollywood Reporter confirmed that Fox wasn't happy with the show's ratings, but would continue airing the 13 episodes due to strong DVR numbers.

'Dollhouse' was created by 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer' and 'Angel' creator Joss Whedon, who will still manage to keep busy this year as the director for an upcoming episode of 'Glee' -- so clearly there's no animosity between him and Fox. At least ... not yet.
