Bad news for fans of Fox's sci-fi drama 'Dollhouse': Entertainment Weekly reports that the show has been pulled from the November sweeps lineup, but is expected to return in December. The network will air back-to-back episodes of 'Dollhouse' on Friday nights; it seems likely that after the 13-episode order is finished, the show will be officially canceled.
'Dollhouse' premiered on Feb. 13, 2009, and never reached more than five million viewers for any single episode. This season the ratings have been even lower, with just upwards of two million viewers per episode. Earlier this month, The Hollywood Reporter confirmed that Fox wasn't happy with the show's ratings, but would continue airing the 13 episodes due to strong DVR numbers.
'Dollhouse' was created by 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer' and 'Angel' creator Joss Whedon, who will still manage to keep busy this year as the director for an upcoming episode of 'Glee' -- so clearly there's no animosity between him and Fox. At least ... not yet.

Tano Beck doesn't have 30 million viewers it's more like 3 million viewers so you don't have your facts right about the ratings. O'Reilly gets 5 to 6 million a night a whole lot more than what Glenn Beck gets. 3 million is pretty good for a cable news show not a fan of gleen beck I think he's nuts and crazy and I can't take Beck seriously. I only watched Beck show 5 or 10 mins of his show his first day it wasn't for me. I can only take Beck on O'Reilly and thats about it O'Reilly tells Beck to be tame.

I just want to point out that Buffy was kind of lame the first two seasons and even Angel wasn't scintillating in season one. We'll never know about Firefly since it only lasted a few episodes. The point is that Whedon is one of the few artists working in the medium of television, so can we at least give him the benefit of the doubt?

I disagree completely. Buffy was much superior in its first two (three actually) seasons, then it went downhill from there. That's actually the general consensus from most fans. Where you get the idea it got better with the absurdities of the last couple seasons is beyond me...
As for Angel, it was great its first two seasons as well, until they brought in the 'son of the vampire' storyline, particularly since the actor was terrible, and killed off Cordelia.

Jason, I have to beg to differ. Season 1 of Buffy is generally considered the weakest up until the last episode that set the future tone of the show. Beyond that, fans are pretty divided on what they consider the best and some of the most celebrated episodes (Hush, The Body, The Gift, Once More With Feeling, Conversations with Dead People, Chosen) came during the second half. Angel was pretty weak its first season as well and many consider the fifth to be the strongest, although the 2nd and even the third or up there as well. The 4th season was, however, the weakest.

Is it just me or did the network fail to promote it? This is the first of I have ever heard of it. No promos that I have seen and watch FOX a lot. I think FOX has lost it's marbles with their programming errors as well. If it ain't broke, don't fix it!

Buffy the Vampire Slayer was a movie, created by Joss, long before the television series... Anyway, this is about another show being cancelled. Comercials income makes or breaks a show, if people record and skip comercials, then it will not last, and this is a DVR show, it has been stated before.

DrMcP I so totally agree with you in everything you said except for not knowing anything about Firefly. I loved it and most every Whedon show I've seen. They do tend to start slow but the twist, turns and complexity of plots that come along later make it sooo worth it to keep his shows going! No one seems to be willing to give his shows the time they need these days tho. I'm really sad to see another good show leave TV without even a conclusion.

I'm sorry to hear this...TV needs these kick butt women for the rest of us to watch and love. This has an original storyline AND a strong one, while the plot was just getting good, figures it to be lost to all the other crap out there...

I agree. Joss Whedon makes incredible stuff. Can we at last have Fox take a LITTLE bit of the blame for how poor the ratings are? After all, they are the ones who made it's show time 8 on Fridays...when no one watches TV....
