Bill Mechanic and Adam Shankman have been named producers of the 82nd Annual Academy Awards, the Wrap is reporting.Shankman is currently a judge on the Fox reality competition series 'So You Think You Can Dance.' He's also directed a number of films, including 2007's 'Hairspray,' co-starring Nikki Blonsky, John Travolta and Michelle Pfeiffer. A former CEO and chairman of Fox Filmed Entertainment, Mechanic now runs Pandeomium Films, which produced the well-received animated film 'Coraline' earlier this year.
Last year, the Oscars telecast was produced by 'Dreamgirls' duo Laurence Mark and Bill Condon, with Hugh Jackman serving as host.
The 82nd Annual Oscars airs Sun., March 7 on ABC.

I always wondered what Adam's background was. Not too shabby! I haven't watched the awards for years, even though I watched since I was a little girl, but I will with him involved.
