Monica and Joey aren't going to have all the primetime fun ... Chandler's back, too. 'Friends' star Matthew Perry is developing a Sony Pictures TV sitcom in which he'll play the self-involved manager of a sports arena who begins to re-evaluate his life when he turns 40.The actor, who turned 40 himself in August, is just the latest 'Friends' alum to return to the tube. Courteney Cox is currently starring in 'Cougar Town,' a new comedy hit on ABC this season, while Matt LeBlanc recently signed on to star (as Matt LeBlanc) in Showtime's upcoming comedy 'Episodes.'
Perry's series, which will be co-produced and directed by 'The West Wing' Emmy winner Tommy Schlamme and written by Perry, is being shopped to networks this week, and will mark the star's first full-time return to primetime since his flopped 2006-07 NBC series 'Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip' (which Schlamme also exec-produced). (Update: The Hollywood Reporter announces that after "heated bidding," ABC has landed Perry's project.)
The big question, of course, is whether or not Perry can finally return to the primetime glory he enjoyed during 'Friends'' 10-season run -- and whether or not he'll be able to get his former co-stars to guest-star, of course.

I have no interest in this has-been, gross, washed-up "comic".

Matt Perry is a very funny person/actor. He reminds me of John Ritter while doing his craziness. You can see his talent in the movie "The Whole Nine Yards" He was so funny & entertaining. But to each his own.

I LOVE AND MISS HIM HE'S VERY FUNNY AND ALWAYS PLEASANT TO SEE...I ONLY HOPE THAT THAT DIRECTOR WILL SLOW A LITTLE THE CAFFEINATED PACE OF "STUDIO 60 IN SUNSET STRIP". LOOKING FORWARD TO IT.......

To each his own, but I LOVE Matthew Perry & I also loved Studio 60. I hope the new show will showcase his talent.

Matthew Perry is the Best one from friends{as far as the guys go}. I think he and Courteney Cox are the best actors from Friends. Although, I do like Aniston, but she plays the same character in pretty much everything she's in. Here's to hoping it's a hit, and it lasts!

I always thought Matthew Perry was the most talented member of the "Friends" cast, and wondered why he never became a bigger star.I know he has had addiction problems in the past and perhaps that was why. Hopefully he is beyond that and this show will lead to a bright and successful future
