Could 'How I Met Your Mother' soon be known as 'How I Met Rachel Bilson'?EW.com's Michael Ausiello reports that the actress, formerly of 'The O.C.,' will guest star in the show's 100th episode in January.
'HIMYM' executive producer Craig Thomas revealed that the pivotal episode would contain "some serious Mother action." He went on to say, "It'll be the closest Ted's ever come to [discovering who she is]. He's getting a step closer every episode this season, and episode 100 [we] kind of go bananas with it." (Also in that 100th episode: a "big-ass musical" bit featuring Neil Patrick Harris, which will no doubt be legendary).
Of course, we've been faked out by Thomas and co-exec producer Carter Bays before -- like at the end of last season when Ted said, "if it weren't for that, you kids may never have been born," then was tapped on the shoulder by ex-girlfriend Stella (Sarah Chalke). She wasn't the mother; her tap merely put Ted on the path to meeting the mother.
So, what do you think: Is Rachel Bilson the mother? Is this another bit of 'HIMYM' trickery? Post your thoughts in the comments!

If you don't like the show then why are you reading possible spoilers for it? Comment on shows that you actually enjoy.

Robin honey, just because you're not smart enough to understand the humor in the show doesn't make it not funny.

one of the best shows out there!!!!!!! we don't need to know who the mother is until the last episode.

HIMYM is a very funny show. Definitely one of my favorite "must see" TV shows! The cast is perfect and the writing is smart and sexy! If you don't like this show, you were born in a barn! Or a manger... or neither!

I don't know what Robin Smith is smoking, but HIMYM is way better than Friends. I love Friends, I've seen every episode a million times, but it was nowhere near as relatable as HIMYM. Friends was just one improbable situation after another. HIMYM gives you a real glimpse of New York, the New York of Friends was completely false. The situations in HIMYM are actually things I've been through, my friends have been through. And 'not funny'?, come on the show is hilarious and it delivers great writing week after week and they have something that most sitcoms are sorely lacking, continuity. I mean I'm just waiting for Marshall to slap Barney again, any day now.
I really hope Rachel Bilson isn't the Mom. I think she's too young. I haven't really decided if I want to see the Mom only in the final episode or before. I think a cool twist would be perhaps for Ted to start dating someone in the last season and then in that final episode reveal that she was the Mom all along.

I really hope Rachel Bilson is not the mother, not that I have anything against her. I agree that we shouldnt find out who the mother is until the very end, and I don't think it should be an already well-known actress. The mother should be a fresh face.

I really liked this show but now it is almost to the point of annoying. How many seasons can this go on with the same people every week? It just needs something new for me to go back to watching it.

Is this the first sitcom you've ever watched? Characters are very rarely added or changed on sitcoms.

It was revealed early in the first season the the mother was Robyn's sister ... So whenever she is introduced it would be her ... providing she only has one sister ...
