Fox May Bring 'The X Factor' to the U.S. & More TV News

Simon Cowell Fox X FactorFox may bring Britain's hit series 'The X Factor' to America. The network is reportedly working on a deal with 'American Idol' judge Simon Cowell, which may also extend his 'Idol' contract through the 2011-12 season. If finalized, rumors say Cowell could earn around $50 million per 'Idol' season, along with an additional $50 million per 'X Factor' cycle. No wonder Paula wanted more money. [Hollywood Reporter]

One Tree Hill renewedThe CW has renewed 'One Tree Hill' for a full season. The network is adding on to its previous 13-episode order, bringing season 7's grand total to 22 full episodes. In the meantime, the network has also ordered nine additional scripts of 'The Vampire Diaries,' and six of 'Melrose Place.' Is it too soon to thank Heather Locklear? [Variety]

Jim Breuer NBC'SNL''s Jim Breuer is returning to NBC with a new sitcom loosely based on his life. The network has given a script order to the multi-camera comedy series, about a stay-at-home father (Breuer) who takes care of his three daughters and elderly parents. With special appearances by Goat Boy. [Variety]

Natalie Zea LawmanNatalie Zea ('Dirty Sexy Money') has landed a series regular role on the FX drama 'Lawman,' starring Timothy Olyphant ('Deadwood'; 'Damages'). Zea will play U.S. Marshal Givens' (Olyphant) ex-wife on the series, a role she originated in the show's pilot. Recently, Zea finished a guest spot on the HBO comedy series 'Hung.' Samantha Ronson 90210Lindsay Lohan's ex-girlfriend Samantha Ronson will guest in an upcoming '90210' episode, featuring music stars Pharrell and N.E.R.D. Ronson will play herself in the episode, in which she gives advice to Navid (Michael Steger) on "matters of the heart." Because we all know what an expert she is. [PEOPLE]

Stephen Root 24'True Blood''s Stephen Root has booked a multi-episode role on '24' season 8. Root will play an officer of the Department of Corrections investigating a parolee gone missing. '24' premieres in Jan. 2010. [Hollywood Reporter]

The CW has ordered eight episodes of 'Fly Girls,' a new reality series about a group of female flight attendants working for Virgin America. The show will reportedly follow the L.A.-based crew as they travel to Las Vegas, New York and other locations. No word yet on when 'Fly Girls' will officially take off. [Variety]
