Between 'Twilight' and 'True Blood,' vampires have sucked the competition dry in movies and television lately, turning everything they touch into big ratings and lots and lots of cash. The CW recently experienced this trend for itself when 'The Vampire Diaries' debuted to 4.9 million viewers last week, making it the network's most-watched series debut ever.
This made me wonder: So, what if the CW, which is still struggling to find viewers, used vampires? Would 'Gossip Girl' and '90210' become more popular? Would 'Smallville' live on for another nine seasons? Read these four potential scenarios, then rewrite your favorite shows to feature vampires in the comments section below.
'Gossip Girl'Synopsis: Your one and only source into the scandalous lives of Manhattan's vampire elite -- all narrated by Gossip Girl, a mysterious vampire out for blood. B and Little J continue their quest to become Queen V, while a secret letter exposes Dan and Chuck as blood brothers.
'America's Next Top Vampire'Synopsis: 15 beautiful young vampires compete to become the next face of Cover Girl. Among the cutthroat challenges: Learning to smile with your fangs.
'71286'Synopsis: As part of an exchange program, the students of Beverly High spend a semester in Transylvania, Louisiana. Later in the season, a spring break trip to rival town Bon Temps goes horribly wrong when the teens encounter ruling popular couple Bill and Sookie.
'Smallville'Synopsis: While investigating a story for the Daily Planet, Clark Kent is recruited by a group of bloodthirsty vampires. From then on, Clark must find ways to avoid his latest form of kryptonite: garlic.

Why don't you write about something relevant? Like the acorn scandal? Why in God's name are you wasting time on ludicrous 'stories' like this?

Then why in God's name are you reading it? Heaven forbid someone writes about something other than what you find important or entertaining.

The CW Network reminds me of Fox when it first debuted. Fox was the redheaded stepchild of the networks. Now look. Fox is one of the most popular. The CW is experiencing a surge in viewers and this trend will intensify. The CW is finding its identity and by mid-season, it will be a threat to the other 4 networks.

I bet that CBS is regretting the decision to cancel MOONLIGHT. and Lifetime to cancel BLOOD TIES. Vampire related shows are doing very well since TWILIGHT. These types of shows have had a very small but faithful following for 40 years, but have found a foothold in mainstream pop culture. Sexy sells and vampires are dark, sexy and mysterious.Personally, I am glad these stories are doing so well. How fun to have such great unreality shows!..........
