Things are getting hairy -- real hairy -- on 'The Tyra Show.'For her talk show's fifth season premiere, Tyra Banks unveiled her "real hair" -- no wigs, weaves, extensions, etc. -- in an effort to "open up stereotypes of beauty."
She first tweeted the news to her followers Aug. 17: "Guess What! I'm rockin' my REAL hair on my talk show September 8th. No fake hair at all! Will be the hair coming out of my scalp! 4 all 2 C!" In a later press release, she declared a "National Real Hair Day."
Yeah, Tyra is definitely taking it to the next level ... of Too Much Information. Does America truly need to be exposed to the hostess' "real hair"? Isn't this why stylists have jobs? We think it's just fine to keep the curtain pulled firmly shut sometimes.
(You think Tyra's wacko on television? Wonder what she'll say in her new online-only magazine, aka a website.)
Of course, this isn't the first time the sassy hostess has shocked and awed us with her ability to go there like nobody else. Check out some of the craziest TMI moments in 'Tyra Show' history ...
1. Tyra reveals her biggest beauty secret -- Vaseline?
2. Tyra provides a women's anatomy lesson. Our eyes, our eyes!
3. Tyra gives bathroom tips. Shudder.
4. Tyra teaches Bow Wow about the birds and the bees,
probably scarring him for life.
5. Tyra feels up Katharine McPhee, probably
scarring her for life.
6. Tyra takes off her jeans, encourages audience members
to humiliate themselves, too.

What do you think of Tyra's stunts -- crazy fun, or just crazy?

Please take a moment to check out my documentary film BLACK HAIR
It is free at youtube. 6 parts including an update from London, England.
It explores the Korean Take-over of the Black Beauty Supply and Hair biz..
The current situation makes it hard to believe that Madame C.J. Walker once ran the whole thing.
I am not a hater, I am a motivator.
Plus I am a White guy who stumbled upon this, and felt it was so wrong I had to make a film about it.
self-funded film, made from the heart.
Can it be taken back?

I don't think the author understands the complex relationship that black women have with their hair. Tyra doing a show au naturale isn't a TMI thing; rather, it's an attempt to open up dialogue and communication regarding the enduring (and profitable) self-hatred and twisted ideals of beauty that different hairstyles represent among black women. My guess is that "Kelly Woo" doesn't have the hands-on life experience to understand why this is relevant.
Full disclosure: I hate Tyra Banks and would find it hilarious if she died in a fire.

From the author: Does America truly need to be exposed to the hostess' "real hair"?
Is there something WRONG with real hair? That's just the kind of thinking that Tyra's exposure episode is trying to combat ... and how on earth could showing your real hair be TMI? Has beauty really developed into this idea that it has to be fake to be appreciated!?! Come ON!

I highly commend Tyra for being real enough to reveal her real hair. Why does being real get such a bad wrap. Real is whats been missing in the whole concept of beauty. Being real is not crazy, being scared to be so is.

Blacks, both male and female must spend millions of dollars getting their straightened, trying to look white.
Michele Obama would look much better with an Afro.....
