I am confused, if Rescue Me is closing out its fifth season tomorrow night... and they are going to air one final sixth season... why is it over in 2011 and not 2010??

Obviously, people care about this show or it would not have lasted this long. I will not miss it because it is not a show that has ever interested me.

Rescue Me is a great show that I will hate to see leave the airwaves. Dennis Leary is awesome, as is his entire case!

My brother was a fireman in the South Bronx for 30 years. He's been retired for a few years on oxygen for bad lungs, a result of all the fires he worked. He was very disappointed by "Rescue Me". The show is not at all realistic. Leary says firemen like the show. All that sex! In their dreams!!!

I was a police officer for 20 years and you can't find a police show that is realistic either. Southland comes about as close as you can get but the CSI shows or the Mentalist are all fluff and little if any reality in real life. Want the real deal, watch The First 48 or Crime 360.

This is a great show and this season is the best by far. I will surely buy the fifth season DVD when it comes out.
