'True Blood' Draws Record Ratings & More TV News

True Blood'True Blood' continues to take a bite out of the ratings, netting an impressive 4.3 million viewers on Sunday. This marks the show's highest performance to date, and is up 600,000 viewers from its June premiere. Meanwhile, 'Hung' and 'Entourage' held on strong, earning 3.4 and 3.3 million viewers, respectively. [Hollywood Reporter]

Paula AbdulPaula Abdul is leaving 'American Idol.' Abdul broke the news last night on her Twitter, adding "I'll miss nurturing all the new talent, but most of all being a part of a show that I helped from day1become an international phenomenon." Fox, FremantleMedia and 19 Entertainment have since confirmed the news in a statement. "Paula Abdul has been an important part of the 'American Idol' family over the last eight seasons, and we are saddened that she has decided not to return to the show," it said. Lauren ConradLauren Conrad and Kim Kardashian are just two of the stars lined up to guest judge on 'America's Next Top Model' cycle 13, premiering Sept. 3 on the CW. Other celebs slated to appear include Chanel Iman and Josie Maran, who will each sit along side the regular judges panel of Tyra Banks, Nigel Barker and J. Alexander. As Tyra would say ... fierce. Lady GagaMTV is apparently gaga for Lady Gaga, honoring the pop star with nine Video Music Award nominations for 'Poker Face' and 'Paparazzi.' Also up for nine awards is 'Single Ladies' phenom Beyonce. She'll compete against Gaga, Britney Spears, Eminem and Kanye West for the coveted Video of the Year award when the 2009 VMAs air Sun., Sept. 13 on MTV. [Variety]

All My ChildrenPine Valley is on the move. ABC will reportedly transfer 'All My Children' from New York to Los Angeles sometime at the beginning of 2010. The move will make room for a studio twice its original size, and allow the show to be seen in high definition. Meanwhile, 'One Life to Live,' which will also be shown in HD, will take over 'All My Children''s current studio. Hopefully, they ran this by Erica Kane first. [Variety]

D.B. SweeneyActor D.B. Sweeney has booked CBS' 'Criminal Minds' for six episodes. He'll play a U.S. Marshall who is brought in to help out with a major case, according to executive producer Ed Bereneo. 'Criminal Minds' premieres Wed., Sept. 23. [Ausiello Files]
