'So You Think You Can Dance'? Katie Holmes thinks so.On July 23's 100th episode of 'SYTYCD,' the actress will perform a song-and-dance tribute to Judy Garland that was choreographed by Tyce Diorio and Dion Beebe. She's helping promote the Dizzy Feet Foundation, which gives dance scholarships to underprivileged students and was created by the show's executive producer Nigel Lythgoe, 'Dancing With the Stars' judge Carrie Ann Inaba, and film director/choreographer Adam Shankman ('Hairspray').
"I can't say anything about it -- all I know is that Katie Holmes is an incredibly talented dancer, singer, entertainer, much more so than other people have gotten to experience," Shankman told MTV News.
But Holmes' performance is just one of the ways 'SYTYCD' is celebrating its 100th episode. The show, which recently earned four Emmy nominations for choreography, will bring back fan-favorite dances, including Mia Michaels' 'The Bench' and Wade Robson's 'Ramalama (Bang Bang)' and 'The Hummingbird and the Flower.'
Last night's performance episode proved to be a special one, with guest judge Ellen DeGeneres. And an emotional routine about breast cancer, also choreographed by Diorio, moved the judges to tears and had Lythgoe declaring that it was sure to be nominated for next year's Emmys. OMG why? The canned singing in that baby voice and the silly stepping (she thought she was dancing). Why would you expose your lack of talent and embarrass yourself Katie? Support dancing for children in other ways....like giving money.

Horrific why is she there! Embarrassing.

What hype for nothing. Katie was pathetic, to say the least...her mediocre singing in that voice of hers... and dance? Please, she didn't dance...she stepped around the floor is all. What a dud she was. Glad she is supporting Nigel's pet project though..it is worthwhile.

Nigel, Mary, Mia, Debbie-- EVERYBODY: why, why, why did you compromise the honesty and integrity that we've come to trust? Why did you build Katie up SO MUCH? I was embarrassed for her (I really like her) both regarding her singing and her 'dancing'. Why would this show DO that? I am very disappointed in SYTYCD and the people I had come to look up to. You've sold yourself out. It would have been better if you had NOT HYPED her talent so much. Then we might have just appreciated that she showed up and did what she did out of love or whatever. It might have been forgivable.

That was by no stretch of the imagination danceing--- a check would have been better and would have saved her the embarrassment of a job done badly

Katie was a poor choice. SYTYCD does not need the hype of a celebrity to enhance this show. It stands on it's own as one of the most creative outlets on TV. Katie was embarassingly average in a sea of extraordinary dancers. Judy Garland would have been mortified at the comparison. Feature someone from Alvin Ailey! DTH! Chorus Line! Twyla Tharp! ABT! not someone who's claim to fame is their marriage.
