NBC Considered $10 Million Jackson Special for Leno's Premiere Week & More TV News

The Jay Leno ShowNBC reportedly wanted to pay "at least $10 million" to air a special covering the Aug. 29 Michael Jackson memorial. A plan was also considered to air the two-hour special sometime during 'The Jay Leno Show''s premiere week, possibly right before 'Leno''s Sept. 14 kick-off. However, the deal has allegedly reached a standstill. [Showbiz 411]




Oprah Winfrey'The Oprah Winfrey Show' hit a ratings low point earlier this month, averaging a measly 3.2 household rating for the week ending July 5. That marks the show's worst performance since its 1983 debut, although it admittedly aired repeats amidst coverage of Wimbledon and Michael Jackson's death. Erika Christensen'Parenthood' co-star Erika Christensen will guest on an episode of Fox's 'Lie to Me,' playing Trina, a law student with multiple personality disorder. Christensen will portray four different personalities when Trina visits Dr. Lightman (Tim Roth) after having a psychic vision of a murder. It's the multiple role of a lifetime. [Ausiello Files]
