After a year of nasty legal battles, 'Project Runway' is finally coming back in style. The show's long-awaited sixth season faced an uncertain future for much of 2008. After the Weinstein Co. signed a reported multi-million dollar deal to move the show from Bravo to Lifetime, NBC Universal (which owns Bravo) filed a lawsuit, which was finally settled in April of this year. 'Runway' will now air on Lifetime as planned, starting Aug. 20 at 10PM.
Season 5 ended its run on Bravo in Oct., 2008.
So now that it has a new home, will 'Project Runway' be any different from previous seasons? Here's what we know so far, according to the Hollywood Reporter:
L.A. State of Mind
Not only is 'Project Runway' moving networks, the show is also headed from New York to Los Angeles for the first time ever. As part of the move, 'Runway' will feature guest appearances from a number of L.A.-friendly celebrities, including Lindsay Lohan and Christina Aguilera. How very 'Top Model' of them.
Familiar Faces ...
Despite the move, season 6 will carry on with the same principle cast: Host Heidi Klum, mentor Tim Gunn and judges Michael Kors and Nina Garcia.
... And A Few Unseen
Because season 6 wrapped long before the case was settled, February's Bryant Park fashion show had to be taped without appearances from the three finalists. Instead, their collections were shown anonymously.
Model Behavior
The sometimes robotic 'Runway' models (who take part in their own mini-competition, as Heidi always likes to point out) will star in the spin-off 'Models of the Runway,' airing after the show.

This was a great show. Then the contestants got to be so weird and more like people to ridicule than get inspired by. Why hasnt anybody ever made it as a true designer off this stupid show, because its just a big ruse for Heidi Klum to prance around in heels. Look at how damn ugly most of the contestants are and how they dress, would you want them to dress you? And then all the crying by the gay men, its enough to make you drink, I cant stand this show, but I love design and clothes, its too bad it went downhill like everything does.

The show is revamping-moving to LA, new celbrities showing up and "The Body"-Heidi Klum is still there. Tim is alright also-
Get it done. So it appears to be back on track and August is ocming soon. Lifetime or Bravo-different channel, same TV.

The only thing I miss about Project Runway is the fabulous Tim Gunn. The Fashion Show is otherwise so much better; no snotty Heidi Klum comments, no weird challenges like "make fashion out of car parts," no over-the-top sniping from the judges. If only Tim Gunn would come over to the Fashion Show, I could do without Project Runway altogether.
