FX Announces Fall Premiere Dates & More TV News

It's Always Sunny in PhiladelphiaFX has scheduled fall premiere dates for some of its biggest returning shows. 'Sons of Anarchy,' which will now air on Tuesdays, kicks off on Sept. 8, while 'It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia' premieres Thu., Sept. 17 at 10PM. The recently canceled 'Nip/Tuck' returns for its final season in October. [Variety]

HungHBO's new series 'Hung' drew in 2.8 million viewers Sunday night. This marks the network's highest premiere for a new series since 'John From Cincinnati' in 2007. But we have faith that, unlike that disaster of a series, 'Hung' can keep it up -- its ratings, of course. [Hollywood Reporter]

Ron LivingstonABC has picked up 13 episodes of 'Defying Gravity,' a new series about eight astronauts from around the world who go on a six-year mission in outer space. 'Gravity''s official launch date has yet to be determined. [Live Feed]

Liza MinnelliLegendary stars Liza Minnelli and Delta Burke will play "dueling sisters" on the new Lifetime dramedy 'Drop Dead Diva,' premiering July 12. The episode is slated for Sept. 20, and will feature a guest appearance by Rosie O'Donnell, who plays a judge when Minnelli's character takes Burke's to court. Expect everyone to be out of order. BET AwardsSunday night's BET Awards, which featured multiple tributes to the late Michael Jackson, earned 10.7 million viewers, making it 2009's most watched cable program so far this year. The show edged out the previous record holder, 'Jon & Kate Plus 8,' which had a 10.6 million audience earlier last month. Perhaps Jon and Kate's decision to step away from the media is kicking in. Danneel HarrisDanneel Harris is returning to 'One Tree Hill.' Harris, who plays Brooke's (Sophia Bush) enemy Rachel Gatina, will appear on at least seven episodes of the show's upcoming season, beginning with episode 2. In the meantime, Brooke may want to head for the hills. [Ausiello Files]
