'Three Rivers' on CBS - New TV Pilot Preview

Note: This is not a review, merely our first impression of an unfinished product. A show can go through many changes between the pilot stage and its official broadcast debut.

'Three Rivers'

Premise: Three Rivers is the top transplant hospital in the country, and employs only the best surgeons, but the show doesn't focus solely on the docs and their surgery skills -- the organ donors and recipients figure significantly in the emotional drama of each episode.

Cast: Alex O'Loughlin, Katherine Moennig, Justina Machado, Daniel Henney

What Works: As should be expected, the patient and donor backstories are all major tear-jerkers. And we're glad to welcome 'Moonlight,' er, O'Loughlin back into our living rooms.

What Doesn't: The show's split-screen transitions from scene to scene are a little forced -- we don't need a collage of the doctor, patient and donor every few minutes to remind us there are lives on the line, people!

Our Excitement Level (Out of 10): 6

Premiere Date: Sunday, Oct. 4 at 9PM ET on CBS
