2009 CW Fall TV Premiere Dates

Gossip GirlThe CW will begin the new 2009 fall season with a few familiar sounding faces: '90210' and 'Melrose Place.'

The new 'Melrose Place' remake will premiere following the season 2 kickoff of the network's other '90s teen remake, '90210,' on Tue., Sept. 8 part of a new premiere schedule that includes an updated time switch on Mondays.

As of now, 'Gossip Girl' will move to the 9PM slot on Mon., Sept. 14, switching places with 'One Tree Hill,' according to the Hollywood Reporter.

    'True Blood' Earns Record Ratings

    'True Blood' fans proved they were bloodthirsty for another season on Sunday night. The season 2 premiere raked in 3.7 million viewers, 'Blood''s highest audience to date. It was also HBO's best turnout since the 'Sopranos' finale in 2007, according to the Hollywood Reporter. Best of all: There wasn't a blackout in sight. (Jun. 17)

    Showtime Renews 'State of the Union'

    'Tracey Ullman's State of the Union' has been renewed. The half-hour comedy series will be back for a third season, reports Variety, scheduled to launch sometime in 2010. Talk about a good impression. (Jun. 17)

    'Battlestar Galactica''s Rick Worthy is in talks to join 'Heroes,' says the Hollywood Reporter. Worthy would play Greg Grunberg's partner, an experienced cop whom Matt Parkman may lean on for advice. 'Heroes' will air on Mondays at 8PM beginning this fall. (Jun. 17)

    Wyle to Invade TNT?

    Steven Spielberg reportedly wants Noah Wyle to star in TNT's upcoming alien-invasion pilot, scoops the Ausiello Files. If cast, Wyle would play the head of a handful of citizens who attempt to fight off the aliens. Meanwhile, no official word from TNT has been made. (Jun. 16)

    Letterman Apologizes for Pailn Jokes

    During last night's 'Late Show,' David Letterman officially apologized for a joke made about Sarah Palin's daughter, one week after the incident occurred. According to Variety, Letterman referred to the joke as "coarse" and "bad," adding it "really, in and of itself, can't be defended." At least now he knows how John McCain felt. (Jun. 16)

    A&E Cancels 'The Beast'

    After previous speculation, A&E has officially decided to slay 'The Beast.' Network president Bob DeBitetto says the show was pulled "after careful deliberation," according to the Hollywood Reporter, ending a 13-episode run that wrapped up in April. (Jun. 16)

    'Hannah' Ends After Four Seasons

    'Hannah Montana''s upcoming fourth season will be its last, reports MSNBC. In an interview with Access Hollywood, Billy Ray Cyrus said it was daughter Miley's decision to add one last season because she "wanted there to be an official ending to" the series. Well, as long as it ends. (Jun. 16)

    Ramamurthy Joins 'Psych'

    'Heroes'' Sendhil Ramamurthy will make an upcoming guest appearance on 'Psych.' Ramamurthy will reportedly play Raj, a man who is convinced the firstborn in each generation of his family is cursed, according to E! Titled 'Bollywood Homicide,' Ramamurthy's episode is scheduled to air in August on USA. (Jun. 16)

    March Returning to 'SVU'

    'Law & Order: SVU' is ordering more episodes with Stephanie March, scoops the Ausiello Files. Show insiders claim March will be featured in at least 10 episodes next season, while one or two characters may be added while she is away. Maybe Hargitay and Meloni will finally take a hint.
