The first cut is always the deepest. Paris Torres and Tony Bellissimo became the first dancers eliminated from season 5 of 'So You Think You Can Dance.'The contestants were partners and danced a hip-hop routine Wednesday night. Joining them in the bottom three couples were Asuka and Vitolio (Broadway) and Karla and Jonathan (cha cha).
Also on the results show:
• Top 20 group dance: Hip hop choreographed by Shane Sparks, set to 'Boom Boom Pow' (Black Eyed Peas)
• Musical guest: Sean Kingston, 'Fire Burning'
• Guest dancers: Miriam Larici and Leonardo Barrionuevo, the tango
Here's what Paris and Tony had to say to reporters after their elimination:
Tony on the hip-hop routine from Tabitha and Napoleon:
They gave us choreography that would actually stand out in the competition ... but I think that it was just on Paris and I that we didn't execute the right away, [particularly] myself because my style is hip hop, but it's not really my style of hip hop -- I usually do funk style ... But no excuses. It was a great piece that was not executed the right way.
Paris on getting cut partially because she's one of so many contemporary dancers:
I knew [from] last year that they are typecasting for the show and they need certain personalities, they need certain ethnicities, they need certain styles of dance ... When Nigel made that comment to me after I had performed my solo, it actually eased me a bit because I knew then that they weren't eliminating me solely on the fact that they didn't feel I was a strong enough dancer.

Tony on the smaller number of hip-hop dancers this year:
The thing is, the previous seasons, the dancers came in as "I only do this and I only do that." But in the past four years, dancers have now gotten to class. So the B-boys can dance now. The ballet dancers can do hip hop. The contemporary girls can do tap and all this ballroom stuff. All of us are coming in knowing some stuff. I think the only person who still is in the old way is Phillip. Phillip is the only guy who cannot do the other stuff and has no other training. He can do it, but he has no knowledge of it.
Paris on who she would've loved to work with:
The great thing about this show is that every single choreographer you work with is completely brilliant. Any of them, from Tyce to Sonya ... Mia, who is brilliant. Wade is just out there and I love that. But one of my idols growing up was Mandy Moore, and I would have loved to have worked with her. So, yeah, I'm bummed out that I don't get to dabble in other genres, and especially I was really excited to try out some Latin ballroom because that spicy flavor is kind of in me.
Tony on the rumor Katie Holmes might appear on the show:
I didn't even hear anything about this ... I didn't even know Katie Holmes could dance or sing or anything. I don't know what she'd be doing, I don't know if Tom Cruise would be coming, too.
