What to Watch June 8-14

This week on TV: 'Nurse Jackie' premieres, the pros take over 'Top Chef' and WE tries their own version of 'Jon & Kate.'

Nurse JackieMONDAY, JUNE 8

'Nurse Jackie' (10PM, Showtime) series premiere
There are several moments in the 'Nurse Jackie' premiere we'd like to tell you about, but they're just too good to spoil. A hint: they involve a severed ear, the people inside a house and one of star Edie Falco's 'Sopranos' cohorts. Falco has shed her gaudy jewels and Joisey girl accent for this dark comedy about NYC ER nurse Jackie Peyton, one of her hospital's most talented professionals ... even when she's trying to score drugs to feed her raging addiction. In the pilot, Jackie's dealing with the sad death of a patient, a cocky doctor (Peter Facinelli), a newbie she's forced to train and an office romance, all while trying to keep that little drug problem on the down low.

'Weeds'5th season premiere (10PM, Showtime)
'The Closer'5th season premiere (9PM, TNT)
'Raising the Bar'2nd season premiere (10PM, TNT)
'Greek' – Evan may lose his trust fund (8PM, ABC Family)
'Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D-List'5th season premiere (10PM, Bravo)

TUESDAY, JUNE 10
'Rescue Me' (10PM, FX)
Show of hands: who thinks season five has been the best season of 'Rescue Me' since the show's early years? Rescue MeRight? The creative resurgence that has included a guest gig by Michael J. Fox and a heaping helping of humor continues in tonight's episode, in which Mike takes Tommy to task for his return to the bottle, only to find that Tommy, in any condition, can be a lifesaver. Elsewhere, Tommy tells his firehouse cohorts he's drinking again, which leads them to hilariously spill the beans to cousin Mickey; Sean continues to get little sympathy from his mom and bro; Uncle Teddy gets suckered by a dying man; and Lou gets a visit from a woman who done him wrong.

'Bizarre Foods with Andrew Zimmern' – Sampling "treats" in the rain forest (10PM, Travel)

WEDNESDAY, JUNE 10
'Top Chef Masters' (10PM, Bravo) series premiere
Top Chef MastersThink of it as an all-star version of the original, if you'd actually heard of any of the award-winning chefs. Still, it should be a stellar competition, as 24 top-notch chefs compete – four each week for the first six weeks – to a final four-week run where the winners of those episodes will duke it out for a $100,000 donation to their favorite charity. Hubert Keller, Christopher Lee, Michael Schlow and Tim Love are first up (like we said, unless you're a serious foodie, not exactly household names), as the chefs will be put through a Quickfire Challenge, followed by a more intense elimination competition that will truly test their skills and culinary creativity.

'MythBusters' – Can a bullet really curve, a la 'Wanted'? (9PM, Discovery)
'Wipeout' – Gotta love the Catapult Into Foam game (8PM, ABC)
'Pitchmen' – Billy goes to Princeton (10PM, Discovery)
'Reno 911!' – 'The Office's' Craig Robinson guests (10:30PM, Comedy Central)

THURSDAY, JUNE 11
'Raising Sextuplets' (10PM, WE) series premiere
The Duggers amassed their brood gradually, and Jon and Kate Gosselin ... well, they're not exactly the best example of family togetherness these days. So here's a new set of 'rents to shed light on just how challenging it can be to run a household with multiples. Bryan and Jenny Masche are first-time parents, which means it must have been quite the surprise to learn that the stork was going to drop six little bundles of joy on them all at once. In the premiere, Jenny tries to train for a marathon and prepare to go back to work (is she Superwoman, or what?), while Bryan tries to shed the "sympathy weight" he gained when Jenny was preggers.

'She's Got the Look'2nd season premiere (9PM, TV Land)
'16 and Pregnant' – Following six pregnant teens (Time, Network) series premiere
'Royal Pains' – Evan plays matchmaker for Hank and Jill (10PM, USA)
'Southern Belles: Louisville' – Shea and Jeff visit his fam (10PM, SoapNet)
'The Fashion Show' – Fashioning clothes for clique-y high schoolers (10PM, Bravo)

FRIDAY, JUNE 12
'Don't Forget the Lyrics' (8PM, Fox)
Don't Forget the LyricsIt's the penultimate episode of the season, and instead of the usual musical guest star, this episode of the Wayne Brady-hosted karaoke competition is all about potentially laying a load of cash of a pair of very deserving women. The contenders for the $1 million prize: A spirited single mom and a victim of the California wildfires. With their families ensconced in the audience, the women belt out a couple of hot numbers, which includes single mom Shari shaking her groove thang, while fire victim Michelle sings a cheekily appropriate number: "Hot Stuff."

'Adam Ferrera: Funny as Hell' – The 'Rescue Me' star does stand-up (11PM, Comedy Central)

'True Blood' (Sun., 9PM, HBO) 2nd season premiere
The Golden Globe-winning series is back, having left off its premiere season with the season-long serial killer True Bloodrevealed (no worries, we won't spoil it for those who are catching up with the recently-released DVD box set) and Sookie Stackhouse (Anna Paquin) saved by vampire boyfriend Bill (Stephen Moyer). In tonight's season two opener, another dead body leaves the citizens of Bon Temps with a feeling of déjà vu, Sookie is unhappy that Bill's new protégé, Jessica, is hanging around, and Sookie's bro Jason is desperate to come up with the cash to travel to a retreat that celebrates his newfound anti-vampire stance.
