Fun Fact: 'Spider-Man' remains one of the highest-grossing films of all-time, earning over $800 million worldwide.

We Say: 'Spider-Man' revitalized the super-hero genre with its high-flying action and adventure, done to even greater effect in the sequel (now if only we could say the same about Spidey 3 ...)

'Father of the Bride'
Mon., May 11, 8PM on TMC

What It's About: A harried patriarch (Steve Martin) faces separation anxiety, exorbitant costs and more as he prepares for his daughter's (Kimberly Williams) wedding.

Fun Fact: 'Father of the Bride' is a remake of the 1950 classic starring Oscar winners Spencer Tracy and a young Elizabeth Taylor.

We Say: This remake has all the charms of the original with the help of a wonderful ensemble cast that includes Oscar winner Diane Keaton and Martin Short. But in the end, Steve Martin steals the show in a performance that offers a rare glimpse at at the legendary funnyman's sensitive side. In other words: If you're prone to crying at real weddings, you might want to keep the tissues close by for this one as well.

Inside Man'Inside Man'
Tue., May 12, 7:30 and 11PM on BET

What It's About: An enigmatic woman (Jodie Foster) threatens to push past the breaking point a volatile game between a bank robber (Clive Owen) and a detective (Denzel Washington).

Fun Fact: Washington previously worked with director Spike Lee on the 'Malcolm X' biopic in 1992, which earned Washington a Best Actor nomination for his uncanny portrayal of the famous Civil Rights leader.

We Say: 'Inside Man' is arguably Lee's most enjoyable movie to date -- a classic cat-and-mouse game with and end twist few will see coming. And with terrific performances by Foster, Owen and Washington, it's no wonder that 'Man' went on to become Lee's highest-grossing film to date.

    'Gossip Girl' Spin-Off in Trouble?

    Is the 'Gossip Girl' spin-off already DOA? Sources close to Deadline Hollywood's Nikki Finke claim the Brittany Snow vehicle is "now dead" -- just days before the backdoor pilot is scheduled to air on the CW. Meanwhile, things are looking better for 'The Beautiful Life,' starring Mischa Barton, and the much-anticipated 'Melrose Place' remake, which Finke says is a "lock" to air. Consider this your daily dose of 'Gossip.' (May 8)

    Gibson, Schwarzenegger to Bid Leno Adieu

    Mel Gibson is one of many stars lined up for Jay Leno's last week as host of the 'Tonight Show.' PEOPLE scoops Gibson will appear on the May 25 episode, kicking off a jam-packed week that includes Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger (May 26), Wanda Sykes (May 27) and funnnyman Billy Crystal on May 28. We wonder if Mel Gibson will pull a Hugh Grant and apologize. (May 8)

    Oprah's Got Talent

    'Britain's Got Talent' sensation Susan Boyle will appear on Monday's Oprah, E! confirms. Boyle will reportedly guest via Skype on the episode that will also feature an appearance by 'American Idol' judge Simon Cowell. Oh, just give her the title already. (May 8)

    ABC OKs 'Modern Family'

    It's a first: ABC has leased 'Modern Family' for 13 episodes, confirms the Hollywood Reporter. The single-camera mockumentary stars 'Married ... With Children''s Ed O'Neill, and is said to be about traditional, gay and multiethnic couples living in the suburbs. That makes 'Modern Family' the first series to be picked up by ABC for the upcoming TV season. (May 8)

    Fox Cancels 'Spike Feresten'

    Fox is pulling the plug on 'Talkshow With Spike Feresten,' reports Broadcasting Cable. The show ends after three seasons on the network, with a replacement for its half-hour midnight slot yet to be determined. Meanwhile, as previously announced, Wanda Sykes' new talk show will fill the 11PM void left by the recently canceled 'MadTV.' Now that's something to talk about. (May 7)

    TNT Announces Summer Premieres

    TNT is getting a jumpstart on this year's summer TV season. The Live Feed reports the network has unveiled official premiere dates for seven series, including new shows and the return of a few familiar faces. Among the highlights: 'The Closer' kicks off Mon., June 8 at 9PM, 'Saving Grace' returns Tue., June 16, 10PM, and the new series 'HawthoRNe,' starring Jada Pinkett-Smith, airs Tue., June 16, 9PM. TNT ... They know premiere dates. (May 7)

    'Cold Case' Ends on Top

    Fans worried about the future of 'Cold Case' may have new reason to relax. The show's sixth season finale, which featured the music of Pearl Jam, drew in an impressive 12.9 million viewers on Sunday, marking its best showing in six weeks. This number is reportedly up 38 percent, according to the Hollywood Reporter. Not a bad way to end the season. (May 7)

    CW Takes Sundays Off

    The CW is parting ways with Sunday-night programming. The network will hand over its 5-10PM slot to local affiliates beginning next season, reports Variety. In the meantime, the network plans to consolidate its lineup down to a Monday through Friday schedule. Well, at least they get weekends off. (May 7)

    HBO Adds 'Game,' 'Treme' to Lineup

    HBO is quickly adding more series to its prime-time schedule. According to the Hollywood Reporter, the network has officially picked up 'Treme,' David Simon's follow-up to 'The Wire,' for a release sometime this fall. The drama series co-stars Oscar nominee Melissa Leo (pictured), and is said to be about life in post-Katrina New Orleans. Meanwhile, HBO is also moving forward with the fantasy series 'Game of Thrones,' based on George R.R. Martin's 'Songs of Fire and Ice' novels, says the Hollywood Reporter. The pilot will co-star Peter Dinklage under the direction of 'The Visitor''s Tom McCarthy. We're so 'Game.' (May 6)

    CBS Considers 'Deal,' 'Dating Game' Updates

    CBS is looking to cash in on remakes of 'Let's Make a Deal' and 'The Dating Game,' reports the Hollywood Reporter. The move is reportedly being considered thanks to a time slot gap created by 'Guiding Light' going off the air in September. In the meantime, no official deals have been made. (May 6)
