'Cast Away'Sun., March 22, 8PM on FX
What It's About: After a plane crash at sea, a Federal Express engineer (Tom Hanks) survives on a remote island for four years in complete isolation.
Fun Fact: Hanks reportedly lost around 50 pounds to complete his shipwrecked look.
We Say: Tom Hanks stranded on a deserted island for two hours may not sound like the most exciting time at the movies. But his astounding physical transformation is a sight to see, and his fight for survival -- and ultimately rescue -- proves to be as compelling as anything you'd see on 'Lost.' The film also features arguably the best supporting performance by an inanimate object ever.

'Training Day'
Mon., March 23, 9PM on SpikeTV
What It's About: A rookie cop (Ethan Hawke) meets a corrupt Los Angeles narcotics officer (Denzel Washington) who wants to include him in his schemes.
Notable Fact: Washington became only the second African American to win a Best Actor Oscar, following Sidney Poitier, who won in 1963 for 'Lilies of the Field.'
We Say: Playing against type for one of the first times in his career, Washington's performance as a tough, no-nonsense LAPD detective is as shocking as it is incredibly fun to watch. Even better: the performance is nicely suported by Ethan Hawke, who also went on to earn a much-deserved Oscar nomination.

'The Royal Tenenbaums'Tue., March 24, 8:05PM on IFC
What It's About: An errant father (Gene Hackman) tries to reconcile with his eccentric and underachieving family (Anjelica Huston, Ben Stiller) in New York.
Fun Fact: The film was co-written by Owen Wilson, who went on to earn an Oscar nomination for Best Original Screenplay.
We Say: Thanks to an all-star cast, including Gwyneth Paltrow and Luke Wilson, this quirky film from Wes Anderson ranks high as one of his best. At the center of the movie is a hilarious performance by two-time Oscar-winner Gene Hackman, who proves that even into his 70s, he still knows how to surprise.
