Movies on TV: March 15-21

'Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl'
Sun., March 15, 8PM on SCIFI

What It's About: A swashbuckler (Johnny Depp) must rescue a governor's daughter (Keira Knightley) from a pirate (Geoffrey Rush) and his mates, who turn into skeletons by moonlight.

Fun Fact: Actors Jim Carrey and Christopher Walken were reportedly considered to play Capt. Jack Sparrow -- a role that led Depp to an Oscar nomination.

We Say: 'Pirates' has more than enough action, romance, comedy and drama to keep the entire family tuned in, no matter the age. But in the end it's Depp's kooky performance as Capt. Sparrow that proves to be the film's real selling point. Like his other movies, Depp raises 'Pirates'' level of quality and makes the story a much more exciting adventure than it may otherwise have been.

'Unforgiven'
Mon., March 16, 7PM on Bravo

What It's About: An old gunslinger (Clint Eastwood), his ex-partner (Morgan Freeman) and a quick-draw kid go bounty hunting in a town called Big Whiskey.

Number of Oscars:
Four, including one for Best Picture and Best Supporting Actor (Gene Hackman).

We Say: 'Unforgiven''s Old West setting will take Eastwood fans back to his early days a rough-and-tough cowboy. As an added bonus: he directs a number of memorable supporting performances, including ones from Hackman, who plays the villainous Little Bill Daggett, and fellow-'Million Dollar Baby' co-star Morgan Freeman.

'Forgetting Sarah Marshall'
Tue., March 17, 10PM on CINEMAX

What It's About: In Hawaii struggling to get over a bad breakup, a musician (Jason Segel) encounters his former lover and her new boyfriend.

Fun Fact: Segel, known to TV fans as Marshall on 'How I Met Your Mother,' also wrote the screenplay.

We Say: This is Segel's movie from start to finish. The popular funnyman bares it all -- in some cases quite literally -- to create a story about love that is smart, funny and surprisngly honest. This is one flick you won't soon forget.
