Reality Blurred

What to Watch Thursday, March 12

ER'ER'
(10PM, NBC)
Is he or isn't he? That's the not-so-secret secret, as original series star George Clooney is rumored to make a cameo appearance.

What's confirmed: Clooney's fellow former co-stars, Eriq La Salle and Julianna Margulies return just weeks before the April 2 series finale, as La Salle's Peter pops in to visit Noah Wyle's ailing Carter. Margulies is back as Carol Hathaway, and the actress says she only agreed to visit when Clooney agreed to return as Hathaway's love Dr. Doug Ross.

As for what the on-screen lovers might be up to now, it's all very hush-hush, but producer John Wells has hinted that Hathaway-Ross fans will be happy with the storyline.

'Ugly Betty'

(8PM, ABC)
Betty's got her hands full with meeting Matt's mama (guest Christine Baranski), so she hopes things go more smoothly when she and the fam try to set Hilda up with Matt (guest Ralph Macchio).

'Smallville'
(8PM, The CW)
Before she returns to the '90210' 'hood next month, Tori Spelling returns to Smallville as pesky reporter Linda Lake, who tries to blackmail Clark into spilling info on the Red-Blue Blur. Seems no one ever told Linda that you don't tug on Superman's cape, and you don't blackmail him, either.

'Eleventh Hour'
(10PM, CBS)
Hood investigates four murders that happen during Fashion Week in New York. Yes, that's right, he's investigating fashion victims.

'Ace of Cakes'
(10PM, Food Network)
A six-foot-long cake replica of a Hershey's bar. We want to go to there.

'Grey's Anatomy'
(9PM, ABC)
McDreamy decides to McResign when he finds out his batting average – turns out the ratio of McDreamy patients who've survived vs. McDreamy patients who've died is out of whack.

'Kath & Kim'
(8:30PM, NBC) 1st season finale
Craig decides playing hard to get is the way to woo Kim back, while Kath asks Phil to move into Casa de Day. And again, we make the plea that if the show returns next season, the name, and the focus, be changed to 'Phil & Craig.'

Also on tonight:
- 'Bones' (8PM, Fox)
- 'Brothels: The Ins and the Outs' (9PM, BBC America)

What's on tomorrow: 'Wife Swap,' 'Battlestar Galactica' and more
