'Fargo'Sun., Mar. 1, 8PM on IFC
What It's About: A pregnant police chief (Frances McDormand) probes the murderous events that evolved from a desperate car salesman's (William H. Macy) kidnapping scheme.
Fun Fact: McDormand's performance made husband Joel Coen the first director to direct their wife to an Oscar (she won for Best Actress).
We Say: Arguably the Coen bros.' best film, 'Fargo' mixes thrills and action with twisted humor, and the end result is as close to perfect as you can get on the big screen. The flick also features spot-on performances from McDormand and Steve Buscemi, who will make you laugh as much as you'll cringe -- Oh, ya.

'The Philadelphia Story'
Mon., Mar. 2, 9:30PM on TCM
What It's About: A snooty socialite (Katharine Hepburn) fights with her ex-husband (Cary Grant) and flirts with a reporter (James Stewart).
Where It Ranks: 'The Philadelphia Story' scored big with the American Film Institute, ranking 44th on their 100 Greatest Films list; AFI also named it the 15th best comedy ever.
We Say: With a script this sharp, it's no wonder why 'The Philadelphia Story' is so highly regarded among list-makers and critics. Even better: the entire ensemble is game for even the zaniest of screwball moments, which will keep you laughing well past the end credits. This is one 'Story' you'll want to have re-told over and over again.

'Working Girl'Tue., Mar. 3, 11:30PM on AMC
What It's About: A spunky Wall Street secretary (Melanie Griffith) takes her boss's (Sigourney Weaver) place with a merger specialist (Harrison Ford).
Number of Oscar Nominations: Six; the film went on to win for Carly Simon's original song, 'Let the River Run.'
We Say: 'Working Girl' is one of the quintessential romantic comedies of the '80s -- complete with wonderfully dated outfits and hairstyles. At the center of the movie is Melanie Griffith, who gives a career-best performance as the quirky and lovable Tess. Weaver is also a riot in a villainous against-type role that earned her one of three career Oscar-nominations. And with eye candy like Harrison Ford, what more could you hope for?
