What to Watch Thursday, Jan. 1

BonesA Marathon of Marathons
Just in case you've still got marathon fever, here's a round-up of the best offerings for New Year's Day.

TNT's digging up 16 hours of 'Bones' (8AM), A&E plays 15 hours of 'The First 48' (8AM), the History Channel encores season 2 of the 'Ice Road Truckers' (8AM) and TLC replays the first season of 'Ashley Paige: Bikini or Bust' (8AM).

Meanwhile, AMC's got the first five 'Rocky' movies (3PM), Bravo gets you inspired for those New Year's resolutions with a replay of 'The Biggest Loser' season three (8AM) and TV Land makes it a family affair with three hours of 'Leave It to Beaver' (9AM), six hours of 'The Brady Bunch' (Noon) and six hours of 'The Cosby Show' (8PM).

'HGTV Dream Home 2009'

'2009 Tournament of Roses Parade'
(11AM, ABC)
Emmy winner and 'Dancing With the Stars' fave Cloris Leachman is the grand marshal for this 120th Rose Parade through Pasadena. Rose Bowl (5PM, ABC) and Orange Bowl (8:30PM, Fox) USC takes on Penn State in the Rose Bowl (the oldest bowl game in college football), while the University of Cincinnati dukes it out with Virginia Tech in Miami for championship bragging rights of Orange Bowl, the second oldest bowl game in the sport.

'Cinema's Exiles: From Hitler to Hollywood'

An engrossing documentary recalls the careers of several Jewish stars – including Hedy Lamarr, Billy Wilder, Peter Lorre and Fritz Lang – who fled to Hollywood after being banned from the German movie industry by Adolph Hitler in 1933.

Major League Baseball Network
(8PM, MLB)
The new cable network, which will include live games and a daily eight-hour recap show during the regular season, kicks off with a replay of Don Larsen's perfect game in the 1956 World Series, the only perfect game in World Series history.

'The Bucket List'
(8PM, HBO)
This Morgan Freeman/Jack Nicholson buddy flick took its critical knocks, but the old timers' things-I-want-to-see-before-I-die road trip actually proves to be a good motivation for planning your own must-do list for 2009.
