A Marathon of Marathons Sure, the holidays mean primetime reruns, but they also mean marathons, and here's a rundown of some of the best.
TV Land really loves the Ricardos with 12 hours of 'I Love Lucy' (9AM), Lifetime unspools the 'Top 8 of 2008' TV movies (8AM), Sci Fi has a whopping 46 hours of 'The Twilight Zone' (8AM) and VH1 replays all eight episodes of the 'I Love the New Millennium' miniseries (12PM);
Meanwhile, TLC investigates seven hours of 'Mystery Diagnosis' (8AM), 'Earth: The Biography' airs for seven hours on NGC (12PM), Spike has 15 hours of 'CSI' (9AM) and Troy Dunn helps people track down their loved ones in six hours of 'The Locator' on WE (7PM).
'Dick Clark's Primetime New Year's Rockin' Eve With Ryan Seacrest 2009'
(10PM, ABC)
It's got the best guests -- Ne-Yo, Natasha Bedingfield, Robin Thicke, Taylor Swift and Fergie -- plus the ubiquitous Seacrest and, for the 37th year, Dick Clark himself, counting down to the big ball drop in Times Square.
'A Miley-Sized Surprise: New Year's Eve 2009'
(8PM, MTV)
It's a very Hannah Montana New Year's Eve!
'New Year's Eve Live'
(11PM, Fox)
Fox takes it to Vegas, baby, Vegas, with NYE performances by David Cook, Scott Weiland and Robbie Knievel, who rides his motorcycle across an erupting volcano.
'New Year's Eve With Carson Daly'
(10PM, NBC)
Tune in to Carson for performances by Ludacris, Katy Perry and T.I., who's ringing in a new year that might find him serving a year-long jail sentence.
'Spectacle: Elvis Costello With ...'
(9PM, Sundance)
Mr. Tony Bennett, who surprises crooner Diana Krall (Costello's wife) when he calls her out of the audience to perform with him.
Also on tonight:
- 'Knight Rider' (8PM, NBC)
- 'The Top 40 of 2008: The Good, the Bad and the Britney' (8PM, Fuse)
