Reality Blurred

What to Watch Tuesday, Dec. 30

kennedy center honors'31st Annual Kennedy Center Honors'
(9PM, CBS)
Controversial New York Senate contender Caroline Kennedy hosts. Barbra Streisand, Morgan Freeman, George Jones, Twyla Tharp, Pete Townsend and Roger Daltrey are being feted.

And performances include Beyonce crooning 'The Way We Were' to Streisand, Denzel Washington and Clint Eastwood paying tribute to their pal Freeman, Garth Brooks rocking out to Jones tunes and Matchbox 20 singer Rob Thomas singing the Who's 'Baba O'Riley.'

But we're betting that you, like us, are going to tune in just to get a glimpse of Babs planting a smooch on her political enemy, President Dubya Bush.

'The Real Housewives of Orange County'
(10PM, Bravo)
New 'Housewife' Lynne gets a chilly reception at a luncheon and Gretchen hears some nasty comments when she takes a break from nursing dying fiancé Jeff. Any guesses about which 'O.C.'-er is at the center of the cattiness? Mmmhmm ... Vicki.

'A Double Shot at Love'
(10PM, MTV)
A houseful of horndogs and a licking contest ensues; yep, nothing can go wrong there.

'Independent Lens'

(Check local listings for time, PBS)
No good deed goes unpunished, or so actor Liev Schreiber finds out when he's impressed by a young Iraqi filmmaker he sees on MTV and gets the man hired to work on a movie. 'Operation Filmmaker,' a film festival favorite documentary, follows the fallout of Schreiber's well-intentioned hiring.

'Leverage'

(10PM, TNT)
Maybe 'The Godfather' couldn't refuse favors on his daughter's wedding day, but Nate and the team take on a ruthless mobster who's all too happy to refuse payment to the family of an innocent man who took the fall for the mob boss' crimes.

'Eli Stone'
(10PM, ABC)
And more wedding drama: Nate asks Eli to be the minister, instead of the best man, at his wedding, but when Eli has a vision that Nate's fiancée is less-than-devoted to her future hubby, he heads to the acupuncturist to get a glimpse of the future. You know, before he goes and ruins his brother's life.

Also on tonight:
- 'Rudolph's Shiny New Year' (8:30PM, ABC)
- 'Breaking the Huddle: The Integration of College Football' (10PM, HBO)

What's on tomorrow: 'New Year's Rockin' Eve,' marathons and more
