What to Watch Wednesday, Sept. 3

'Sons of Anarchy'
(10PM, FX) series premiere
'Sons' has been called the "West Coast 'Sopranos,'" as the show revolves around a Northern California motorcycle gang that runs an illegal weapons ring and rules its small town with mob-like intimidation.

'Undeclared' star Charlie Hunnam is Jax, the thirtysomething poised to run the gang eventually, but only if he can "toughen up" to the standards of current leader Clay (Ron Perlman), the second husband of Jax's mom Gemma (Katey Sagal).

Jax doesn't have the same ruthless streak Clay and Gemma do, and he's got an additional cross to bear: Druggie ex-wife Wendy (Drea de Matteo), whose addictions have led to birth defects for Jax's newborn son.

'Bones'
(8PM, Fox) 4th season premiere
Booth and Brennan are off in jolly old England hanging with their British counterparts and helping solve a murder, but back home, Angela's got foreign affair issues of her own, as the husband from her quickie Fiji wedding resurfaces and doesn't want to give her a divorce.

'America's Next Top Model'
(8PM, The CW) 11th season premiere
Thirty wanna-bes are whittled down to 14, as the competition begins in Los Angeles, and one contestant has a big surprise for her fellow models. A really big surprise. A really big, huge surprise.

'Top Design'
(10PM, Bravo) 2nd season premiere
Todd Oldham gives up hosting duties to become mentor to the 13 aspiring interior designers who have to whip up a stylish loft space for some prickly clients.

'Lewis Black's Root of All Evil'
(10:30PM, Comedy Central)
It's Mickey Mouse vs. Xenu as Black and company debate whether or not Disney is more evil than Scientology.

'Run's House'
(10PM, MTV)
Poor Run. He has to hit up his wealthy friends for donations so he can keep his seat on a fancy charity board. Being rich is so hard.
